Never mind, all draft, no bottles. Assuming this is for Sierra Nevada Beer Camp tour. FYI; IPA, Happy Ending, Georgia Brown, 420, Road Trip, LowRyeder, Festive.

They're stuff is pretty good but nothing mind blowing... Festive was the one I remember liking the most out of that lot... that being said it was one of the only options I had in Nashville last year before I moved to CO... I did appreciate them while I was there... now I'm spoiled

They would be an average brewery in CO at best.

Never had any of their stuff but would like to give them a try. Anyone know if any of it will randomly show up on tap around town or is it all for Beer Camp?

Not sure what their plans are, but during CBC, they were part of a Tap Takeover at Amato's and were on tap at various Denver bars during the week.

They made a collaboration Wheat Wine with Breckenridge, which was pouring along with various kegs from both breweries at:
    Scruffy Murphy’s
    The Lobby
    Star Bar
    Lucky Pie
    Blake St. Vault
    Pour House
Strata Bar at the Hyatt Regency

The collaboration beer was pouring at collabortion fest and was actually pretty good. Suprising to me, because as someone who travels to Atlanta for work a few times a year, i've had a chance to drink Sweetwater frequently and have never been blown away.

I had the collaboration (O'Tay) at 471 a couple weeks ago and it was a butter bomb. That's the second bad BA beer I've gotten from Breck in recent months...after years and years of everything being pretty bulletproof.

For Sweetwater, I really like their stuff. They aren't brewing anything that makes you question what you know about beer, but they do a really good job with their beers. I don't think that's a bad thing. I'd rather have that than a place that makes 1-2 crazy boundary pushing items and a bunch of other beers nobody cares about.

The Sweetwater label approvals for Colorado are draft only, the labels were not for cans or bottles. The approvals came through on 5/21, but sometimes the label approvals are delayed (which is odd to me, how can a beer be sold if it hasn't been approved yet), so these could very well be CBC approvals, but might be the Beer Camp (although it seems a little far in advance).

Others I saw approvals for include Almanac, Cascade and Societe all on 4/8. These were for CBC for sure.

True but when you fly into Atlanta on your way to see your mom's family in Talladega AL, a true beer desert, your first stop is going to be at a beer store somewhere not too far off I-20 for a couple cases of 420 or IPA to get you through the week...I've done it & I'll do it again, next wedding or funeral I go to down there...

Their IPA is better than most breweries here.

Not really. Six years ago I would have agreed but we have a ton of average to poor breweries here nowadays.

    Yep.

With Odell less than 4 miles from my house, any IPA they make smokes anything from Sweetwater! (IPA, Myrcenary, St. Lupulin, etc...)

There are definitely average to poor breweries, but in a state that has Odell, New Belgium, Oskar Blues, Avery, Great Divide, Bull and Bush, Crooked Stave, Funkwerks, Left Hand, Renegade, etc. . . . This list goes on and on. I have to strongly disagree.

That doesn't even include the breweries we get distro from: Prairie, Russian River, Jester King, Perennial, Firestone Walker, Stone, Lagunitas, . . . I could go all day. Any state that has a booming craft beer scene is going to have mediocre to poor breweries, but it is soooo easy to get really great IPA's from just in-state breweries, not to mention out-of-state ones.

@ssteigerwald , so are ANY good brews showing up at bottle shops for beer camp? Similar to DC brau during the craft beer conference?

Too early to tell. Beer Camp isn't until late July, some approvals (if any) won't come in until the week of. (and some might come in after...).

Yeah different strokes I guess. Some of the breweries you list in the first paragraph produce mediocre beers in my opinion. Not sure what your point was with the second paragraph, there isn't a single brewery in Colorado producing beers at the same level as Russian River or Firestone Walker. Let's not act like the Jagged Mountain thread is an isolated case or that Colorado is somehow making some of the best IPA's in the country.

Also just to be clear I enjoy Colorado beer quite a bit but I have had a lot of amazing beers over the years so I guess I am a bit jaded. I read people gushing over new CO breweries online and then when I actually taste their beers I have to question how much of the Homer Simpson bit is coming in to play.

As someone who just moved here from Kansas City where there are only a very small handful of mostly mediocre at best breweries (except Blvd), you must be pretty spoiled here to think that most breweries here are average-to-poor. I'm not saying that CO makes the best beer in the world, but the craft beer scene as a whole here is completely awesome, and there are quite a few breweries that I am still super geeked about being right down the street.
