Always nice seeing an east go west.

We're finally getting Sweetwater here in PA too.

I suspect they will have a tough time. It's a fairly saturated market.

Their beers are solid though...definitely the best available option in the peach state

SweetWater makes some pretty nice brews, I would buy them if they make it to CO.

    Cheers!

Have to strongly disagree. Have you had anything from Three Taverns, Creature Comforts, Orpheus or Burnt Hickory?

Had their IPA and Pale Ale while in Fort Myers Florida last week and enjoyed them both. Looking forward to seeing them out this way.

I suppose I should clarify with "readily available". I've had three taverns, but I perceive them to be relatively obscure. I don't spend a huge amount of time in Atlanta though.

A bit more info in the Brewbound story concerning the current partial ownership and management of Sweetwater:
Kim Jones was an executive at Spanx [ :astonished: ] and had previously worked in the beverage industry at Coca-Cola. Both companies based in Atlanta.

Bill Waters spent over two decades at Coors / MolsonCoors, ending his career there as Chief Corporate Strategy Officer.

I wonder if Sweetwater is a strong candidate to be the next brewery to sell. They've been growing geographically pretty quickly, and I don't know how highly regarded they are in the Southeast.

They're an OG in the southeast. Been around since the late 90s and they do make solid brews, even if they're not particularly highly regarded on BA. Take Two Pils, 420, IPA, and Hop Hash are all pretty nice beers available more or less anywhere within the region and there's something to be said for that.

Sweetwater is on my shortlist of breweries I think ABI/MC would like to acquire... it's an established, regionally successful craft beer brand that clearly has growth potential. But what do I know?

I'm sure they'll go after Sweetwater soon.

I would love to see more east coast breweries expanding to the west. Never had Sweetwater but if they make it out here, will definitely give their beers a try.

I agree, probably not the best but still good. Maybe this will help move other east coast beers to the west. And don't forget Terrapin

I'm surprised they haven't pushed into this area, their stuff would sell well I think, as their price point isn't crazy.

Glad to see any SE brewery expand west. Sweetwater makes solid beer. When they started distributing in S. Fl a few years ago it was a pretty big deal. 420 is a go to for a lot of people down here. Nice brewery as well, definitely worth a visit.
