I was under the impression that swish was brewed year round because Bissell releases it 1-2 times a month. However I saw Bissell brothers latest post claiming this weekend is the second to last release of swish for the season. Is swish a seasonal beer?

Yup, this is going to be it for Swish until October.

Does anyone know why? It seems to be one of their most popular offerings and I personally feel like it's their best beer. Is it a hop contracts thing?

I think your right on the money about it being hop contract thing. Or at least that was the reason that was given last year.

I think either way it's the smart move to keep it seasonal. It keeps demand up. I wish more breweries would follow suit and make things seasonal instead of crowding the shelves with their whole lineup.

Seasonal indeed. Brewed October through April. Baby Genius takes its place April through October.

Reciprocal IPA needs to be brewed more, such a sleeping gem

Had it on draft a couple weeks ago and was blown away! Definitely up there with Swish in terms of Bissell's best, even though it's very different.

yup, its excellent. Last time I had it draft at the brewery we had substance and swish on tap too. When I smelled Rec all I could think of was oranges.

    Reciprocal is year round!

Swish isn't made year round due to hop contracts. Don't fret tho! The end of Swish marks the beginning of Baby Genius! Another Bissell Classic :grinning:

I know it's year round, but it's pretty rare they have it on, especially in the winter it seems.

Is it easy to find it on tap around town? Would love to try this when I'm there this weekend.

Not sure it gets distributed much at all. Again its only been brewed once in the last few months. Maybe twice. You can find substance.

Sadly, no. Substance, LUX and iLucky are predominantly seen on tap for limited times. Hit up Thirsty Pig the second you arrive for Bissell at a bar. They're always guaranteed to have at least 1 tap from BB.

King's Head on Commercial Ave is usually good for Bissell on tap as well.

Awesome. Thanks for the tips. Thirsty Pig was my planned first stop on Friday for lunch right when I get to town.

Bissell opens at 12pm on Saturday correct? If I arrive there at 10 1030 for the swish release will I be guaranteed to get it?

I've showed up at 11:30-40am for each Swish drop this past season, in the cash line, and have been out by 12:15-30pm everytime. Cash line: no pours, no merch, just canned beer ready to go = the fastest way to get cans

The credit line? No idea the wait on that, but it has the pours, merch, cans and lingering convo with the cashiers after buying beer = much longer wait, very unpredictable

No idea what the deal is with this last release but with sub-300 cases of Swish, I'd show up a little early and expect a mad house.

Cash line is the only way to go - $51 for 3 4-packs. It's the line closest to the building that leads to the garage door. The line that leads to Bissell's main door is for credit cards and as mentioned by OnlyTheFinest you'll be waiting in that one for a long time.
