Yeah, Kristen's cousin is a good kid. he goes to UVM and like craft beer as much as he can for a college student's budget. He LOVES to go to breweries (HF specifically) with me and is a fantastic mule.

Funny side story, the first time I ever met him, he was 19 and it was Black Friday. We drove up to HF and we each got 2 Juicy's, you know, because back then beers like Juicy lasted almost a month...

I think you told me that story on our drive to SWTFYW BS 1.0, crazy to think how Juicy lasted that long or that beers like BCBVS was a shelf turd in our insta-whale world we live in now

So YOU'RE the CT guy she keeps mentioning! Yes, it's her, I've been giving her some advice as well, mostly as it pertains to that particular BIF since it has some unique guidelines.

No, I haven't figured it out for sure, but my leading theory is that it's a hit-for-hire orchestrated by the FIBs by way of an out-of-thread trading partner in my area......

Just to add on to here, seekabrew is fantastic but sometimes you need a little more info. For instance, it says CA gets Jester King but it's Black Metal and the Prince one. No fruited sours here...

Yeah, it doesn't think SC gets Goose Island and we get full distro.

That too; or as another example, PA "gets" Fat Head, but really it's almost exclusively the Pittsburgh area; meanwhile Philly gets most of PA's list but I hear Pittsburgh misses a fair amount of it (@Steve_Oldrati would be better to specify what that area doesn't get) But even more than just the "deeper dive", in some cases it's just flat out wrong; Westbrook still shows being only in the south but we know NY gets it, and I haven't seen JK in PA at all except a shelf-turdy La Petit Prince from months ago, I think from about when they started selling at the brewery.

Yeah, her box is solid, not amazing. She doesn't have a huge cellar, but is willing to drive to stores/breweries, so it's a solid box.

I want to say seekabrew is run by just a few people, and as people e-mail them with updates they change it, I'm sure they are overloaded with a real job and the site, it's a good starting point but i always check other references too.

I use untappd in conjunction with seekabrew trying to find out of distro beers targets haven't had

Totally agree; she also got a trade done for some FW boxed beer, and just told me she landed an Earl for her box as well, I know I'd be very happy to receive what she's sending. I think she could do a lot more damage if her target wasn't adverse to IPAs, sours, and saisons; being in CT (and with an upcoming trip to HF) those would normally be her bread and butter.

Oh absolutely, I've heard that it's a tiny operation so personally I'm thankful it exists at all.

I think new BIFs would be wise to include "seekabrew discrepancies" in the info the OP needs (along with tshirt size, style preferences, etc). That way, some of those examples listed could be made known to senders.
