Ok, I'm getting ready to haul 3 boxes down to the shipping center at work...2 for folks in here, 1 for a former swtfyw'r that must've felt he was too good for us.

One last call to see if anyone knows minnesotaryan. I want to ninja him but also want to make sure he still lives at this address.

It has been a long time coming. Used to be all crazy over Untappd badges and gave that up, wasting money on crap beers became too much. Just trying to put things into perspective, I could drive to a local bar and get an Abrasive on tap for $5, or I could go to an out of town special release and spend $500 (gas, hotel, food, etc.) for an equally great beer. I gave up my Central Waters tickets for this reason alone and was able to get half the bottles as well.

So spend all this money to get some special beers to age and or trade to spend extra money to ship the beer. Usually just start thinking how stupid it seems to be standing in line for 12 hours to possibly get a couple of beers. What really set me off was hearing about people racing into parking lots and literally running from their cars just to get a bottle of KBS and etc. Just starting to grow OK if I don't get these things anymore. Maybe a friend will get one and or I will get to try it on tap, in the end ill save money and still be fine lol.

Cellaring has pretty much lost my interest, sure the heat might go away or it might taste a little different but our palate changes as well. I love what it does with Central Waters BBBW, so I will continue to get those and I love being able to grab and Bourbon County whenever I feel like it, so I will most likely continue to cellar these. It just seems like a waste thinking back on how I would buy 2-4 of every beer so I could age some, or find out your entire batch of CW BBS is infected.

I'd like to get back to what I enjoy the most about the beer community and that is the generosity. I would like to get back to sending some random boxes and finding stuff I have never even heard of. I still want walez and you can still send me walez, I am just not going to race around anymore.

tl;dr- Gave up on untapped badges, $5 Abrasive > cost of special release beer that's not better than Abrasive, palates change/beers get infected, I still love walez, I want to relax, lymi

 

I knew you weren't seriously asking, but that doesn't mean that I don't want to go, with or without full hands.

One nice thing about having a baby is that my wife will be off from work for 3 months, and I have a ton of time off saved up for the same reason; while the point is to be home keeping the house running, I have more available time than I really need, and taking a day for a fun trip is not at all out of the question.

I generally prefer to use the time I have available like this for bottle shares and the like, but the way this group is talking about coming out for this release, that just might happen!

 

Damnit!!! I missed the Sour, Saison, Funk NBO on the other site. That ish happened quick. I had been waiting on that one. What am I gonna do with this box I've had set aside since the last one?!

Driving to DLD seems perfectly sain but you would have to be a maniac from Texas to fry there!

 

I got in, but kind of regret it after getting my target and seeing the crazy want list. Of course all the stuff I planned to send are on the do not want list needless to say I guess he won't be happy
