Yeah, it worked out pretty good. I didn't want to have all the bottles just sitting on the shelves for fear of a drunken disaster.

You could name it "The ChiMP" - Chocolate Maple Porter. Yeah yeah i know there's no I in chocolate. You could call it chomp, but that sounds much less cool. Or include an "I" word in there like Imperial or Incredible. Or just ignore it like most people making acronyms do.

I'm in the camp of CMP "Canadian Mounted Police" for the name... it's a Maple porter, after all.

I'm going to give you guys my recipe for hangover surprise, which is a treat for you.

    - Buy a box of Kraft shells mac and cheese. It's the one with the liquid cheese instead of the powder shit.
    - Also buy some onions and tomatoes and sausage, the kind that comes in the latex tube.

Ingredientos: mac $ cheese, sausage in a thing, tomatoes, oinions

    - Heat a pan with maybe like a quarter tablespoon of butter or something.
    - Putt your thing of raw sausage in the pan and fry that shit in your pan. Get it all cooked until almost cooked, like halfway I think.
    - Boil that pasta until al dente. Al dente is Italian for al awesome.
    - Throw the tomatoes and oinoions into the sausages. And cut up the tomatoes and oinoinionosn before throwing them into the sausages, I forgot to say that.
    - Cook for minutes.
    - Drain the stuff by letting the liquid out with your spatula or other thing, there's going to be lots of liquid. You don't want it, get rid of it.
    - Put the al awesome paste in the sausage stuff.
    - Squeeze the cheese sauce into the pasta. Wring that shit like a tube of toothpaste because otherwise it's all a waste. Wring it.
    - Eat it and have orgasms.s. Your'e welcome.

Had a Superb Bowl party today...

A friend had the idea to drink CO beer when Denver did something excellent and WA beer when Seattle did something excellent. We were hyped about the idea, particularly because I had a 2010/2013 Ten Fidy side-by-side ready to go. Obviously, things didn't quite work out as we planned and we ended up drinking way more Red Hook ESB than anyone wanted (because Elysian doesn't distribute down here).

We stretched the rules a bit and opened a KBS at halftime to lift spirits and distract from the halftime show.

Also, my friend did a cellar/freezer cleaning and found some vintage cookies:

And @zekeman17 showed up in holiday Rasta regalia to help

Fucking cookies picture that didn't post...

They didn't really improve with age, but they held up very well in the freezer and made for an excellent treat.

As for the Ten Fidy, the 12/2010 can (the one with the more "squared" pop tab) was definitely just a little past its prime so I'd recommend getting into any 2010s ASAP and not waiting too long on any 2011s. This one was kept cellared well for the duration of its life, so I can't think others would do much better. The 2013 was still a bit too fresh and hoppy. So I'd say 6-24 months is about the sweet spot for this brew as best I can tell.

Exactly the way Julia Childs would have put it if she had had 40 some Untappd checkins before sharing her recipe.

I'm glad it got there safely! Also, no care package needed, not why I did. Hypothetically though, IF someone was to be sending me something, I'm moving next week so contact me for the new addy:wink:

For safety, I kept an opener in my pocket at all times. Just in case there was a beeralanche and I needed to drink my way to safety.
