Hasn't there been a string of people who have tasted infections in 13 BVDL? Seems like a very generous offer though.

 

Did you actually get to try the bramble justin? I heard it was really good but this was all second hand and would love to hear how it was from someone first hand Hope life is treating everyone well, I still keep up with all the madness here despite my lack of posts. I'm actually sending out a box to someone in here...

 

That seems like a solid offer. Didn't hear about the infections in 13 BVDL though. Is it "widespread"?

 

This came in the mail yesterday from Mike at Green Flash. I thought it a very nice gesture and am appreciative of the gifts. 2012 Grand Cru and 2012 Le Freak from his stash and a couple Cellar 3 bottles. They say this bottle of Silva has a very low chance of problems.... I say I'm going to have to have a bit of a buzz on to try that one again! Whew it's hard to forget that taste... Still, hats off to Green Flash and cheers to Mike. Two thumbs up....

 

I got an incredibly infected bottle as well. Did you reach out to him?

 

I had it in line on Friday. Was really good. More barrel forward than I would have thought. Got a lot of vanilla from it. Fruit was understated, but I think that may have been because of the big barrel presence. Not very sour yet either. I think I'm gonna sit on my bottles and open my first one 6 months from now and see how its doing at that point. Thinking the barrel will even out and the fruit and sour can come out to play a little more.

 

Ninja strike!!! I'm pretty pumped for this one. **** should come out in a few days when the unsuspecting victim realizes he has to rebuild his porch this weekend!

 

I'd assume that rather than following our thread, they just do forum searches across different sites for mentions of their products, but it would be really cool if we had some breweries lurking in here, as if we were an unknowing focus group.

 

I opened one as well and mine was very fruit forward as well as the oak being super prominent. I got 0 bourbon and as it warmed a slight astringency became more noticeable. Still quite delicious, though.

 

never got to try it, but sending all of mine out to people who will.
