I always use the same 3rd party shipping center and always send homemade marinades. One of the girls recognizes me and just says more of the same. Yup! The others always ask what I'm shipping

If they can't open the box(and there didn't seem to be any signs they did), then it is pure speculation. I drop my boxes off at work so I never get questioned. It got all the way to PA before they turned it back. Odd all around.

@TheBeerAlmanac, you can absolutely write a response. Whether or not I send it? To be seen.

This is my method also. Walk in, drop box on scale, say hello to the nice lady who works there and leave. Not enough time to ask questions.

Funny enough with @phishbfm issues. For the first time earlier this week when shipping the lady went thru the normal "what are you shipping" after I said collectibles, which is normally enough of an answer she directly asked if I was shipping alcohol. I smiled and said no. Then asked people actually ship alcohol? Hahahha

I ship everything from work, we have a daily UPS pick up. I don't have to even deal with a counter person. The driver is a nice enough guy, but he's not likely to think too much about what he's picking up.

I hope there wasn't a memo from the head office about cracking down on alcohol shipments.

It does have me wondering that as well. I'll probably just switch to UPS anyway. They both pickup at work, just a different url to go to for shipping.

Although, I still don't know if I'm getting a discount or how the pricing works on either.

Print this out and send it please. And be sure to include the $20.

    "RE: Improper Shipping Procedures

    To Whom It May Concern:

We recently received notification that concerns were raised by the FedEx legal department in regards to certain packages shipped by our company that may or may not have contained alcohol. We are diligent in shipping any and all products in full accordance with any applicable state and federal regulations and are committed to pursuing the highest level of due diligence to ensure all packages are handled and received responsibly.

The market of child alcohol sales is something we take very seriously, and when we sell our alcohol to children, we are sure to do it by the book. We will be sure to use all the required FedEx labels to mark our packages as containing alcohol. In order to facilitate our shipping needs and the needs of other similar businesses, we humbly request a custom label marked as “Alcohol for Children.” This will ensure our recipients know their packages are intended for them and not their piece of shit parents, that is assuming the recipient is of viable reading age. If this is not an option, we can simply write “for Children” on your stock alcohol labels with varying colors of crayon.

I do not know what the “$AW” code is or how it relates to our shipping, but just reading it looks expensive so we’ll probably just say no thank you. If you have a similar code that will work in our situation that does not involve extra dollar signs, we will be happy to reconsider this requirement.

All future packages will hereby require an adult signature, per your request. In return, we ask to have any FedEx driver delivering any of our packages be at least 21 years of age and capable of at least signing their own name, and we would like to also have their cell phone numbers.

In regards to the policy violation, we officially claim that we do not ship “beer” or “hard spirits.” In order to pacify your acceptance of this claim, please accept the enclosed $20 bill at our expense. If this is not acceptable, then please consider our package contents to be for medicinal purposes and all recipients to be medically diagnosed with conditions necessitating our products, which renders the package outside your jurisdiction or something. And please send our $20 back.

Regarding your inability to ship alcohol to consumers in Pennsylvania, then I guess we’ll use UPS. I apologize for wasting your time with this letter. In recompense, feel free to eat a penis.

    Kindest Regards,

    "Our Company"

As soon as I saw what it was going to be, I finished chewing the bite of sandwich I had just taken before I let myself even start reading. I knew there would be a clean up involved if I didn't.
Who knew @TheBeerAlmanac had legal training. It should come in useful in dealing with all the red tape
    involved in starting a brewery.
