Hi all, I will be in Syracuse for a few days in late February, and I was wondering if anyone had any spots they recommend (bottle shops, bars, or breweries). I did live in the city for a few years, so I know of some of the major places. However, I was thinking that there might be places I was unaware of that are worth checking out. The places I am familiar with are: Bottle Shops: Brillbecks's DeWitt Wegmans Party Source The Syracuse Co-Op Bars: The Blue Tusk J Ryans (I prefer them to the Tusk personally) Further, if there are any seasonal releases that will be available in your region at the time that I couldn't get in California, that would be great to know. And - a longshot - but if anyone has a bottle of LeBleu they would part with, I would be happy to bring something to trade for it from The Bruery (I'm a society member and have a few extra of their exclusive offerings I can trade). Open to other Northeastern rarities, too, so if anyone has an offer BM me. Thanks!
Check out World Of Beer at Destiny USA. 50 tap lines, and hundreds of diff bottles. Also if you're stopping at Brilbecks walk a block to Blarney Stone. They only have a few tap lines but 2 of them are always rotating handles of different IPA's . But the burgers are amazing and only $3. Cash only though so you can have a couple beers and dinner for under $20.
Well you seem to have most of your bases covered pretty well and you'll definetly get your fill between J Ryans and The Tusk but there are a few other places that are worthy of mention: **Shops** D&L Truck Stop (Auburn) Galeville Grocery/ Byrne Dairy Stafford Store (Syracuse) **Bars** Clark's Ale House (Syracuse)
D&L in Auburn does have a good selection, but if you are in that area don't miss the Thirsty Pug bottle shop as well. Great selection and the knowledge to go with it. Auburn also has a new brewpub (Prison City) and nanobrewery (Good Shepherds), and Tinkers bar always has a great craft selection on tap.
Good call! I almost forgot about Prison City. Great spot for lunch or dinner and a couple of beers. Their taplist is really solid even when they run out of their house beers (which go fast because they're very good). Definetl worth a visit there if you venture West.
Just a fair warning, if your coming and staying in syracuse, Auburn can be about a 30-40 minute drive from where you are.
Thanks for all of the advice! I doubt I will make it to Auburn on this trip, but it's good to know about it for the future.
