Of course not, you can drink it :stuck_out_tongue: . After all, it's called "Cable Car" after San Francisco's history with cable cars

Why do you say we get preferential treatment? It's possible that SF has Cable Car 2012 and they just haven't done anything with it. Cable Car Kriek was a unique situation.

Well, for one, Tomme hasn't come up to SF for a Cable Car release in at least four years...

    Is that a serious response?

That is a serious response. I'm aware that it's much easier for Tomme to drive to Toronado SD from San Marcos (much) than to come up to the city, but I've definitely observed much better releases, with greater quantity and other Lost Abbey rarities tossed on for those releases, at San Diego than in San Francisco. It might be de facto preferential treatment, but it's still preferential.

I believe Stupac was referring specifically to preferential treatment with Cable Car, and that was what I was responding to. I have no opinion on the frequency of Tomme's visits to San Francisco, the duration of time he spends at Toronado when he's there, or what other special Lost Abbey beers he sends to Toronado. I don't see the relevance.

I was talking about for Cable Car releases in particular -- it gets released first in San Diego now. There seems to be more supply, and the event built around the release is higher quality. I would guess it's not unrelated that the brewer is a stone's throw away.

And what I was said in reply to Stupac is that perhaps Toronado SF has Cable Car and are waiting to release it. Do you know that they don't have it? It's up to them what they do with it. It was SD Beer week down here so it's not surprising that Toronado SD released it in the middle of the week. I don't see a basis for the assertion that there's preferential treatment going on. Cable Car Kriek was released on the exact same day at both Toronados last year (http://www.lostabbey.com/2011/11/09/cable-car-kriek-2011-release-day/). My guess is that both bars got Cable Car and one chose to release it earlier than the other. I could be wrong on that, but that's been the case in the past and I don't see anything aside from speculation to tell me that's not what happened this year.

    Guys
Thanks for the posts. We are in no way putting preferential writing on the wall. I was in fact scheduled to be in San Francisco for a release of Cable Car in October but could not put it together. Releasing it in San Diego for Beer Week seemed like a good thing to do. We have shipped the rest of it North so those of you looking for it can find it soon. We love this batch as much as we have loved any other and think it has amazing long term potential. Looking forward to making bigger batches in the future.

Really appreciate the note, Tomme. I'm a big fan and Cable Car is a favorite. Any paranoia from we Northern Californians is just envy and love for those in SoCal.
