TABC regulations for the most part have a lot of inconstancies. Which does make for a major headache if you're looking to start a local craft brewery and self-distribute to boot. What I am wondering is, are there any good sources to keep up to date (read up on) on the new changes/current Rules and Regulation for TABC?

One of the changes I heard about is that TABC has finally gotten rid of labeling beverages as 'Beer' and 'Ales' base on their ABV (Beer < 4% and Ale > 4%). My question is does the label ruling also effect how these beverages are sold? In a sense that a beer that's ABV is greater than 4% would no longer be sold and taxed as a Malt Liquor but, sold and taxed the same as a less than 4% beer would?

I believe Jester King had the beer/ale law changed a year and a half ago. Not sure how it affected taxes though.

The labeling change did not effect the licensing for brewing a beer over and under 4%, at least to my knowledge.

Although the labeling requirement changed, "Beer" and "Ale" are still regulated very differently.
