I am headed to Table Rock Lake in a few weeks are there any breweries or beer bars in the area? We are staying for a week and I would love to sample some great local craft beer (if it is out there).

Mothers is the closest brewery, in Springfield. Unfortunately, that area is a craft beer desert. Do NOT go to the "brewery" in Branson - it serves, perhaps, the worst beer I've had, funneled through the dirtiest tap lines in America.

If you like fishing you are going to the right place. Beer, not so much...bring your own

Silver Dollar City is kind of cheesy but fun

Table Rock is amazing, but there isn't any craft beer worth a damn anywhere within 45 miles.

Bring your own or grab a suitcase or Bud Light on the way through Branson.

Thanks for the help. I will head to the local beer shop here before I head out.

First question is what part of Table Rock are you going to be on? There are 3 breweries in Springfield, and depending on what part of the lake you will be visiting, it might be worth a run up to Springfield. Mother's and White River have taprooms only, Springfield Brewing Company has a brewpub. My wife and I are big Mother's fans, but all three are worth a visit.

If you do find yourself in Springfield, we have two good bottle shops, Brown Derby International Wine Center and MacAdoodles
