Tallgrass - King Buffalo imperial stout

    It appears that Tallgrass Brewing is working on a new "imperial" version of their year round Buffalo Sweat oatmeal stout called King Buffalo. From the labels below, this will be part of their Explorer Series and will be released on draft, as well as in both 16oz and 12oz cans. This big, imperial stout will clock in at 10.5%abv. Can't wait to pick this up and give it a try! No word on release date yet.

    Be glad you don't get the regular version. Nothing to report there. I will be picking up the Imperial version though and give it a shot.

    I keep hearing its great but again I get disappointed a lot with "great" beers. Will still grab a single if I ever see one.

    I really enjoy the regular buffalo sweat, and am very excited for the imperial version. definitely try the regular if you get the chance, it probably won't be one of your favorite beers but it's really good for a low abv stout.

    Drinks like a 7-8 to me very flavorful and a great winter session beer for late season football tailgates.

    Good stuff, you can taste the alcohol which is OK with me. I purchased a single but will go back and buy a couple 4 packs.

    It's a richer and boozier Buffalo Sweat. You smell and taste the bump in ABV.

    I tried a sip from Tallgrass reps and holy cow. I enjoyed it. Buffalo Sweat was my go-to trade extra for a while. King Buffalo would be even better. I'm considering picking up a pack or two.

    Not a fan of any of the Buffalo Sweat releases so far but this one may change that.

    It's been a while since I have had anything from Tallgrass. I bought this along with the regular Buffalo Sweat and both were great. Might go back and visit more Tallgrass stuff.

    Try big ricc if you like coffee stouts. It's excellent.

    I know, it would work much better than buffalo sweat. I'd just hope they'd have the skills to do it right.

    Does anyone know if more King Buffalo will be hitting KC? Supposedly we were going to get one shipment according to a beer manager at the shop. I'd like to pick some up, and wasn't sure if I should haul in some more for trade extras (Big RICC and Buffalo Sweat have been my go-to extras to share tasty local stuff).
