Tallgrass - Vanilla Bean Sweat

Never made it to Roch, had to go to the cities to get some last year

 

I guess it's supposed to come to Rochester real soon. I'd like to just try a single of this, and honestly, wish some store in town had a great single selection. Hy-vee & Northwest Liquor by Gander Mt. do offer singles, but its shoddy at best.

 

Talking to my distributor today and its on paper for me to get it on my Dec 8th shipment, so its not too far off. Omaha seemed to have plenty of this last year while IA didn't get any period. Really excited, its a great winter time brew. And Bond111 cant have any!! Muahahaha!

 

I've drank 2 4 packs now and am really enjoying this brew

 

They have it at Northgate Liquor in Blaine right now. $9.

 

I loved the regular Buffalo Sweat. The Vanilla bean is even better!

 

Since we don't have any in Roch yet, if anyone is driving down this way and is willing to pick some up I'd be much appreciated.

 

@shawnp Andy's X-roads had some in on Wednesday night when I was there. I was over on what I would call their 4th beer shelf, where they keep their Dark Horse & Central Waters stuff. Top shelf kind of by the Surly overflow that isn't in the cooler.

 

Nice. On my BCS rounds in the morning I'll swing by and see if it's still there.

 

I grabbed a 4 pack of TGVBBS today. Nice!

I haven't been able to find it until today. I guess I like a little more meaty stout. It did seem to grow on me a little by the end of the can. The first sip was a big letdown. I guess it's the beer they wanted to make. Easier to session with a low ABV stout than hit 12ABV stouts all night. I certainly need to find some more good session beers. I tend to steer towards high ABV without trying.

 

I prefer the plane Jane version...

 

I guess I just am so used to meaty stouts. The low ABV stouts are a different animal. For some reason I really like Town Hall's house stout though. Good low ABV stouts are out there. I guess, as always, it's just a matter of preference. Given how I like to slam beer. I need to find some more session beers so that I can keep my mind at releases. It's tempting to drink Coors light just to stay out of trouble and that is saying something. The more drunk I get the quicker I seem to drink and that's not good in a line you might have to stand in for 8 hours. I guess I'm better now.

 

I just didn't like the vanilla influence in this beer, seemed to make the whole beer seem too sweet for me. Plenty of vanilla porters & stouts I do like...

 

Ironically, it could have been bad timing but I hit 15 or so stores over the past couple days and only found it in one store. It was pretty hard for me to locate.
