My bro-in-law is staying in Bradenton but leaving town back to Nola tomorrow (7/27) morning around 8 or 9am. He wants to pick up some beers for me but I won't see him till Thanksgiving so what are some good bottle shops to visit on his way out of town that will have a decent selection of local stouts/porters/bw's. I want to make this convenient as possible for him since he is doing me a favor.

So which bottle shops/liquor stores would you recommend and what beers do you recommend him getting that I wouldn't see in Texas? Doesn't have to be local beers, i.e. Terrapin Wake's and Westbroook Mexican Cake.

    Any help is appreciated!

I forgot to mention he already stopped by CCB and picked up some TRJ. Excited to try that one!

If hes in Bradenton, he should check out the ABC on Manatee Ave (State Road 64), and depending on where hes flying out of, the Total Wine & More in Sarasota at University Parkway and I-75 (if hes flying out of SRQ), and if hes flying out of Tampa (or driving instead of flying), he could hit Craft Beer Cellar (on State Road 60 a mile off I-75 in Brandon), or the TW&M on Dale Mabry in Tampa (right behind CCB) on his way north.

Those places will have the best selections around that he can get to easy without going too far out of his way.

@wingnutter covered it pretty well. Bradenton and Sarasota is pretty much big box (ABC and Total Wine) only.

If he is flying out of Tampa, Shep's is a good bet in St Pete, and not too far off I-275 (if he planned appropriately).

Forgot to mention he's driving. Does that change it up? Was thinking of places that are off the highway or close to the highway since he's going out of his way to do this for. Also, anything new that just landed in town worth grabbing? Bottles or cans.

Yes I covered this for ya in my first post

Also...if hes driving to NOLA, He will be taking I-75 to I-10 and then I-10 West...Swamp Head is right off 75 in Gainesville although I doubt they have anything that will keep til November...but Proof on Tennessee Ave in Tallahassee is another great bottle shop/bar that will have stuff not available in Central Florida and worth a stop, IMO...its about 10 minutes off I-10, not sure if thats too far out of the way or not.
