Hoping for some help. I'm coming in from Madison next week, and meeting some friends from Tampa in Orlando. Anything on the shelf right now I should have them pick up? I'm not sure where in town they are located, so don't want to send them on a wild goose chase. Obviously fresh Jai Alai is #1, but open to other IPA/Stout/Sour suggestions. Thanks!
Do they sell cans at the brewery? Is that the best place to ensure fresh stuff? Looks like their office is just a few miles from CCB, so may send them there if that's the case.
How I would answer this question depends on whether -- and, I suppose, to what degree -- your friends are "beer people." If they are, I'd agree with @BKnarr and ask them to go to Cycle for one-of-each crowlers. Very few who love beer, and have a little extra time, would say no to that (particularly since I'm presuming you're bringing some WI goodies with you). If they are THOSE kinds of friends ... hell, I'd ask them to go to Rapp for a growler of his world-class gose and/or chocolate-peanut butter stout. If they're not ... Yes, send them to CCB's main brewery/tasting room. They'll find the freshest Jai Alai there along with the other core beers. I was there about an hour ago and they had four-packs of Tocobago on sale as well. There's a Total Wine around the corner where they also could get Tampa Bay Brewing's Reef Donkey pale ale (phenomenal!) and stuff from Coppertail as well. Enjoy your trip!
