My wife and I are going to attend this year. Making the troip from syracuse. We booked the scribner lodge for $150/night (2 night minimum). Are we crazy to do both days? It is a bit pricey but the brewery list looks pretty great. Just dont want to buy both days if everyone thinks ot will be overkill. How early do tickets usually sell out? Anyone ever stay at scribner before? It is supposed to be less than 1 mile away. Any other lodging suggestions that may be better and provide shuttle service?

Also, any tips for doing this fest right? We are also wondering if there are any good restaurants, bars, breweries, take-out options for the night time or breakfast or pre-fest lunch?

Theres not much around the mountain. 150 seems reasonable since they charge more during the ski season. The lodge should have breakfast where your staying so make sure you eat a good breakfast but there is great food throgh out the day and its well worth it. Hunter is about 2 hours from me but lucky for me my wife loves to go to these things and somehow doesnt like beer! So i get a free ride!

I have attended TAP for about the last 7 years, but have only gone on Saturday. Apparently, Sunday is much mellower, with less people/crowds/lines. It may be a good day to sample the ones you were not able to on Saturday, due to lines. I have stayed at Scribner, but they did not have the 2-night minimum when I stayed. It is a neat place.

I am also the brewer at Cave Mountain Brewing Co., in Windham, a short drive from Hunter/TAP. We will be open, but I suggest a DD if you go. Hope to see you at TAP!
