There is a restaurant near me that did a 20 tap Dogfish takeover (including 120, WWS, Olde School, Burton Baton, Bitch's Brew, Raison D'Extra, and many others). It was pretty awesome. I had a flight with 120min, WWS, and Olde School.... talk about hardcore. :grinning:

They are doing the same for Founders next week. KBS is confirmed and I am hoping for CBS as a surprise.

IMHO, there's a difference between a "tap takeover" and a "brewers night". With a takeover, that one brewery is on all, or at least a large majority, of a bars taps. A brewers night, a brewery will bring 5-10 beers, and the bar leaves the rest of their taps with whatever.

I tend to like brewers nights (going to one tonight, Holla out to Bale Breaker!), but not so much full-on takeovers.

I like them due to the fact that I can usually taste a variety of new things from a single brewery at the same time.

Depends on whether there are some special releases thrown in.

I like tap takeovers especially if they are paired dinner deals. A great way to mix food, drink, and friends in a price fixed setting. I also like when tap takeovers bring in rare or otherwise hard to get variants/brews from a given brewery. IMHO I like them if they are done right and most of the ones I have been to have been done right.

Speaking of, a local favorite of mine is having a "takeover" tonight, meaning 10 handles from a single brewery (leaving 30 open for everything else).
