Did anyone go to the release today?
Damn, I went last year and it was awesome. Wish I could have gone this year. ISO
Anyone know if they sell bottles of this at the restaurant after the release (i.e., is it still available in Brea)?
i also am wondering if it is on sale at the restaurant in brea?
Jazz had a bunch left last night when I was there. I'm sure he didn't sell out
Brea will have bottles for sale today at 12PM (Limit 1 per person $19.99 + tax). Please leave some for me.
Are the bottles available for offsite consumption or is it on premises only? BB stouts are my favorite.
Call El Cerrito Liquor. See if they still have bottles. It was a 4 per person limit last night,
I was at El Centro this morning at opening. They had a little more than nine cases left. $19.99 4 per person
If you go to el cerrito, grab me one victor ;D
I got you hommie!
So there is no to go at the restaurant in brea?
Yes to go. One bottle limit, unfortunately. The Taps in Corona will also be selling bottles at some point, maybe when they sell off all the Hillbilly.
There's still Hillbilly left there? Wonder why.. it's great stuff.
Down to 24 bottles now too
At el Cerrito?
At the brea location
Brea sold out
I'm relaying what they told me on the phone. Could be that Taps Corona is a little off the BA radar.
Hillbilly is pretty good. Remy is good. I would feel bad paying the prices they are charging for these 2 beers. With that being said, I really want to try Traces Of Remy. Someday.
Remy at $20 is highway robbery. Good beer, but no way worth that.
Not fully disagreeing with you... but the only BBA Stouts I can think of that beats Remy at the level of quality and this price point are Parabola, Prairie Bomb, and maybe Abyss. What other ones do you have in mind?
last year's was 10$ for 10oz(12oz?) this year is 20$ for 25oz, that's much better i think
Honestly? I think the lack of many big BBA stouts here is the only reason Taps can justify that price. Granted I, like many others here, trade and that sways my opinion a bit. To the average consumer it's probably much more appealing.
I got a bottle from the GABF competition to take home. We opened it last weekend and thought it was outstanding. It had a chocolate-covered raisin (Raisinet) thing going on. Quite unique and very delicious.
