Hi All, I'm heading to the Tarpon Springs area this weekend to catch a Twins vs. Phillies game and hoping to hit a brewery or 2. I see there are a number in the area and am wondering which might be the best couple places to go. I'm with the family so I won't have a lot of time to check things out. I prefer West Coast IPAs, and dark lagers but am open to all styles. Any advice would be appreciated!
Your best bet (for my money) is the city of Dunedin, which is between Clearwater (where the Phillies play) and Tarpon. Dunedin is very walkable. Many breweries, many restaurants and shops (i.e., the rest of the family can find something to do while you slide away for a beer or two). For the beer, my recs are 7venth Sun and Woodwright Brewing. Everyone can eat (and you can have a couple solid beers) at Dunedin Brewing.
Tarpon Springs has a nice little brewery scene. If you can only hit two, I'd do Unrefined and Brighter Days.
Thanks for the advice! I wasn't able to get to any of places suggested because of timing, a lot of places closed on Monday and Tuesday... I was able to get to Sponge City and 2 Frogs in Tarpon Springs and HOB in Dunedin. All were cool places and had really nice people behind the bar. I enjoyed the beer at all them and would to return to sample more!
