If there isn't one already is anyone interested in starting one? I am in the processing of moving into my new house in Mechanicsburg so what better way to break in the new place then hosting a bottle share. I am thinking late June would give me plenty of time to get moved in and work out the details of a bottle share.

I'd be interested. I don't know of any set groups other than impromptu meet-ups.

Well that makes two of us for the bottle share. Anyone else interested?

Keep your eyes on this board. There have been a few really good bottle shares organized and held out at O'Reilley's over in Union Deposit. They have had great turnouts and a lot of great beers.

I'm down in York but I'd be in for driving north a bit for a bottle share.

I'm closer to Reading, but I'd be down for this, as well.

What Edwin said. There is a fairly big one that happens a few times a year... the last one was in early April if I recall correctly.

That being said, I am sure you will not find much resistance if you were to set up some one-off type events... they have certainly happened in the past. Additionally, I am sure that if one were to set up something a bit more formal, that would also be well accepted.

Thanks for the information. I will look into getting something set up with a local establishment so that it is a little more formal.

I moved to Mechanicsburg a year and a half ago and still haven't hooked up with any local BAs, so I would definately be interested...

Yeah, keep an eye out for Imminent Liquidation, OP and others. First year it was held in Lititz and this past year in Harrisburg. It's always a great time. I believe Jeff and Dueane are thinking about doing two a year now, but to gather something more frequent (and I assume smaller) would be great.

For a small bottle share, there are a few places that would probably welcome a group with a small room:

McGrath's (upstairs before they open it)
Shady McGrady's (before they open...they have been looking for an event)
    Brewhouse Grille
    Pete's
    ABC upstairs
    Market Cross (back room)
    Arooga's Downtown
    Lancaster Brewing Co
    Coakleys
    Nicks

I'm in York as well, but I'm always interested in a good bottle share if I can fit it into my schedule.

Damn I would have loved to get in on something like this. I was in York for a few years for college. I just graduated and moved back to south jersey though.

I hear you. I have lived in the area my whole life and I have never heard anything about tasting groups or bottle shares which is why I started the thread.
