Just wanted to throw it out there that there will be a tasting at the beer authority on August 24th. No specific theme. Hopefully starting between noon and 1pm. If you plan to come it would be great if you could bring a bottle or two and post up here what you plan to bring.

I'm not 100% sure exactly what I'll bring, but right now it's looking like some form of an allagash coolship, something from block 15 and a hunahpu's.

Hope to see lots of you there with a wide selection!!

what kind of structure..? Limit to # of people so we don't end up with 1/2 oz pours? Minimum # of ounces? Minimum standard for beer contributed (ie, can't bring a pliny and expect to taste a BA Huna..)?

Depending on the day/time, there are usually about 5-10 regulars and 3-5 people that join in. Overall everyone brings 22+ oz. and a few of us usually bring at least 4-6 bottles. We usually can't drink all the beer that we bring and wind up bringing some back home with us. We try to have enough of each beer to have a minimum of 1-2 oz pours, but that can sometimes be tough with bottles like the coolships.

Honestly, there is no regulation on the beers you bring, but we encourage people to bring whatever they can in terms of quality - ie. don't be a jerk and bring a pliny expecting to taste a BA huna, Damon and BA dark lord (like you said), but it does happen from time to time.

Cool - I'll sort through some boxes and see what I can contribute. Thanks!

I'll probably bring a 2009 Apricot, a Pretty Things - Our Finest Regards, and something I find doing cellar archaeology (maybe something from Funkwerks or an Imp Stout).

Link to what was at the last share to get an idea: http://beeradvocate.com/community/threads/bottle-share-at-beer-authority-6-1.92639/#post-1382262 - The theme was sour/wild ales, but people also brought some stuff to break that up.
Usually we do end up having to cull bottles from the list, so there are some that got voted off the island as well.
