So after work today, have a co-worker over for a few beers. 5 to be exact and my question is this.

    I think it should go....

    1. Epic Elder Brett
    2. Cambridge Weekapaug Gruit
    3. Westmalle Dubbel
    4. Rogue Chocolate Stout
    5. Bear Republic Big Bear Black

Light to dark and the Bear is the hoppier of the two stouts. Should I switch them around.
Going with a brie spread and crackers as well.

    Cheers!

I'd leave as is -- might as well put the dubbel and the chocolate stout next to each other.

You're welcome Brian, I mean Eric.
Besides the fact these are off the shelve So.Cal beers. I apologize for not sending a message.

You too Brett, hiding behind that like button.

    Cheers!

Nice to see you sharin' in the Weekapaug Gruit James.

Order looks fine, queue up the Phish (preferably Mike's Song>I am Hydrogen>Weekapaug Groove) and enjoy.

Put the Epic Elder Brett last. Great beer end on a high note

Nothing at all wrong with that order, save the hoppy stout for the very end. For Epic Brewing, here's a really good brewer turning out some really, really good stuff and not getting enough love. I haven't had that particular one yet but have really enjoyed stuff from their Exponential Series. (especially the Double IPA)

You think? Just move it after the Big Bear?

    Cheers!

I really enjoyed Elder Brett but I do not think it would be appreciated as much after a Dubbel and two stouts. The last three will definitely linger on the palate a bit which would muddle the Elder Brett.

It's a collaboration with Crooked Stave so it has that nice brett going to it. It's closer to Seizoen Bretta from Logsdon Farmhouse Ales or Fifth Element from Squatters then anything else they've done

Alright the brewer talked me into it.
    Thanks Scotty B!

    Cheers!

I agree! I split an Old Rasputin XIV recently and followed that up with my first taste of the Stone Ruination 10th anniversary. That really messed up my palate and made the Ruination taste mediocre! I would drink the delicate beers first!

I say forget the list. Start with the first and end with the last.
