Going to watch Northeastern v My Safety School in the Hockey East Championship tonight. Staying at the Omni Parker House, meeting some friends for dinner before the game. Any recommendations for places in that area for good food, lots of TVs, & proper brew? Thanks.
Can’t speak to TVs, but the Tip Tap Room always has a strong beer list but be prepared to spend a fair amount of money. Also In Your area but away from the Garden is Merchant Kitchen which I generally prefer to Tip Tap as it’s cheaper (still expensive) and a more open bar setup. Likely has better TV setup too. Go Huskies! Edit - stoddards also has a good beerlist and arguably best food for Boston beer bars, but that’s even farther than merchant in opposite direction from garden. No TVs either.
Night Shift just opened a tap room at Lovejoy wharf, right next to TD Garden. They do serve food (kind of limited menu though) and have plenty of TVs. So if you like Night Shift, that would be the place to go.
I think the best answers have already been given, bust a tip that the bar at Omni Parker is a great, old school feeling place to enjoy a cocktail. Definitely worth a visit while you're there if you enjoy that sort of thing.
No TVs, and minimal brew, but I would suggest Chinatown. Hard to find a bad place in there, though there are a few that are fantastic.
Thanks for all the tips. I was outvoted, & ended up @ West End Johnnies...which has Lunch on draft.... #winning
I find that a relative bargain to the price of a large Bud light. I didn't know they had that at the Fleet (still call it that). I usually go to the Sam counter and get the NE IPA. One of the few beers I will drink at the games...
I was in club seating, & one of the bars (near 119?) had it. Otherwise, Hoponius Union on draft ($13.50/16).
Some of those bars include 15% gratuity automatically on top of the obscene prices, but not really advertised (so people tip on top). Yes, the people working them make bank.
