Okay everybody, thought I would do a separate thread for TAFTBD this year instead of having the November thread mixed up in it. For those that are unawares, the AHA has designated the first Saturday of November each year to be National Teach A Friend To Brew Day. Many clubs have big gatherings, some small, some are just individuals or friends showing other friends how to brew. Do you have any plans? What are you brewing?

Our club will be setting up at a local brewery with a few different demos (AG, Extract, Big System, Small System, Conicals, Buckets, etc). I will be doing a demo at my house for two beers. I will first mash in an Imperial IPA (Azacca, El Dorado, Mosaic & Citra Cryo, Denali). While that mashes I will do an Extract Dark Mild with steeped grains and Bobek. I will have a few batches for others to taste while the process proceeds. After they are all done I will probably have a get together to taste them later and send the folks images of fermentation progression.

Brew & Wine Hobby homebrew shop in East Hartford, CT does this every year as well for those interested in CT. They should be announcing the time slots soon for different brewers to reserve their spots (follow their facebook page for more info). I think they have equipment there, but most brewers bring their own equipment to brew on from what I remember (the shop provides all the ingredients for free).
