I picked up a FFF Teku Glass last night (https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BDpcaSqCYAA3x9o.jpg) and I am wondering, is this supposed to be an alternative to the Snifter or a Tulip? What styles of beer is it meant for? I don't own a ton of glassware but I have a few options in my cabinet, most of which I use correctly (I think). I have a snifter that I use this primarily for Stouts, Barleywines, and Belgians. I have a tulip glass that I basically use for everything else and I mostly drink IPA's, DIPA's and Pale Ales. I also have normal pint glasses (some with the wide bowl / tumbler at the top and some without), a pilsner glass, and one of the larger weizen glasses. I don't really ever use the weizen or pilsner glasses though and sometimes I use a normal pint glass when I'm lazy.
"Teo Musso is the founder of Baladin Brewery in Italy. He collaborated with Italian sensory analysis expert Kuaska to create the Teku glass (the name Teku is an amalgamation of the names ‘Teo’ and ‘Kuaska’.) Musso’s goal in creating the Teku was to come up with an industry standard glass that could be used for the sensory analysis of all kinds of beer. He was inspired by the ISO glass with is the glass that is used to conduct the sensory evaluation of wine."
Thanks, so is this supposed to be some hybrid or universal glass for all beer (similar to how some view the tulip)? I know on the beer 101 page it has different types of glasses and what they are good for, would be nice if teku was added.
Suggest this to the Ba site moderators. I think that Teku's have become popular enough to deserve thier own listing on BA as a new style of glassware!
