Telegraph Brewing in Santa Barbara is showcasing some of their one-off and experimental beers on May 3. Tickets go on sale March 21 on Eventbrite. I went to Noche de las Obscuras last year and had some really wild, incredibly unique and delicious beers. Here's a pic of the menu from last year (they're devoting all 10 taps to Obscura instead of the 8 they had last year, and a 3oz pour of all 10 is included with the ticket). I assume it'll be a totally different lineup, but just to give a sense of what the Obscura line is all about.
Sorry, I figured all the information from the page on their site was repeated on the Eventbrite page. Ticket is $30.
Thx. Interesting event - their most recent sours I've sampled (Obscura Peche, Gypsy Ale) have been exemplary.
The average beer here was better than the average sour at a Barrelworks release. A few of these were among the best beers I've ever had. I really hope Telegraph expands their Obscura line—easily in the same class as TRB (though no idea how hard it would be to maintain the quality with the heavier production volume).
I think that's the problem Telegraph has had, maintaining quality in higher production levels. It's what has kept them really only to a local spot you drop by on when you're in the area opposed to seeking out their beer at bottle shops.
was driving by pissed that i couldn't go.. didn't want to put the family through a ticketed even ( dont even know if kids are welcome ) but got our fill at Barrelworks anyhow.
They have so many carbonation issues with their bottles. They do some really great beer though. Their barley wine was one of my favorites for awhile and most of their sours have come out nicely.
