Quick background - I live in Las Vegas, no basements or cellars so I have a 2nd fridge in the garage i use as my cellar. I'm also using a Johnsons digital temp controller.

My Question - The problem Im having is the slight gap between my fridge and the door since the probe wire is in between them. When I put my hand up to the opening, I could feel cool air coming out. I was wondering if there was a better way to go about this, or a solution to keeping the seal on my fridge door closed.

    Thanks for all the input!
    Cheers

You have a couple of options here depending on how involved and how handy you want to get. You can make a small cut in the magnetic door strip so that the wire seats better. Too big of a hole will lead to more leaking air and can be plugged with glue if you like. You can drill a hole in the fridge for the stat wire. You'll need to find where the coils are by checking with a paste of corn starch and water. Smear that on the side of the fridge and whatever dries immediately has a coil under it. Whatever dries slower may not. Again, you'll patch with glue.

Edit: I suppose this could be drilled through the door, and you'd avoid a coil puncture.

I'd run the stat wire at the TOP SIDE of the fridge and probably leave it alone.
