I've heard talk about this before, and maybe it's in a big thread somewhere on the forums, but I was curious about temperature change and beer quality. Now i understand that subjecting a beer to extreme temperature changes, especial numerous times, can alter it's complexion and taste. However, I was wondering if it was a big deal to have a beer come out of the fridge, adjust to about room temperature, and then put it back in the fridge. Some people say it does, others say not. Is there any scientific proof of this, ie observed yeast breakdown or changes in chemical content (from a truly empirical perspective). Taste is subjective. Was wondering this because I had a beer in the fridge for about a month at around 36 degrees, and moved it to a wine fridge where it's constantly at 54 degrees.

It's mainly heat that's an issue. You haven't let it get that warm. Fridge temp and room temp are not in the range that I would be concerned with. Maybe if you took it out of a fridge, let it get to room temp (say, 70 degrees F), put it back, took it out, and again and again... but your situation is cool man, don't sweat it.
