Where do you find Temperature controllers for your fridge or freezer here in canada? I was looking for something a little like this http://www.etcsupply.com/ranco-etc111000000-digital-temperature-controller-prewired-p-87.html thanks guys
is this what you want? they have a flat shiping rate of about 20 bucks, also tons of hops and malts. : http://www.homebrew-supplies.ca/via...=controller&search_category_id=0&item_id=2340
Depending on where you live just go to a refrigeration wholesale supplier like Trane, RSL or Westburne they have these and probably cheaper. Just look my refrigeration wholesalers in your phone book. As to wiring it pretty simple.
After having no luck with local refrigeration outfits, I got a prewired Johnson Controls temperature controller shipped in from the Beverage Factory in California. Model A419ABG-3C. It ended up costing me like $130, which was a price I was willing to pay to avoid wiring it myself. (I still haven't been able to find a good used freezer, so I don't even know if the bloody thing is functional) Unfortunately, I just got a $40 charge from FedEx in my mailbox - dated November... must have been delivered to my neighbour first or something. Long story short - the online ordering option is expensive... Test the waters first and decide how bad you actually want the device...
Yeah exactly I want to avoid duty fees as much as possible. Last thing I ordered from the U.S was 55$ and i had 49$ to pay in fees. How do they calculate you might ask? No clue but i'm guessing that's ups' salary...
As some who worked as a refrigeration mechanic(now retired) that is pretty standard controller Model A419ABG-3C and on the shelf at most wholesalers. But it sounds all is resolved
yeah you would think that. Maybe I just didn't hit the right places but I couldn't find it here. It is resolved now though so all is good.
Yeah, it's pretty clear now that I've paid a fortune for it - I had reconciled myself with the fact I was paying $130 (shipping was most of it)... Then I belatedly got the customs clearance invoice and that put me squarely in the "sucker" camp... All the same, I still haven't found a source for a similar product here in Newfoundland. Even the local Johnson Controls office didn't give me any satisfaction. Glad to hear you found a Canadian solution, oldp0rt.
Thanks I had found others from the first link posted above but it was more expensive and not what I quite expected.
