My basement is really the only option I have when it comes to storing my stash. Primarily, it's all big stouts I have down there and it's a rather modest size (about a dozen bombers and a few 4/6-packs).

My concern is I want to save some of them for the Autumn/winter and temperature control is not an option. It shouldn't get warmer than 70 down there and, I know that's far from ideal aging conditions, but it does get rather humid.

None of what I have is "that" old, nothing more than late '12/early '13 and I'm not going to sit on these much longer than the end of the year/early '15, so....long story, long...will the beer taste off or carbonation be affected by these less than ideal conditions? I appreciate any answers. Keep in mind, my basement was in the 50s most of the winter, so I hope the fluxuation doesn't affect anything either. I'm also just aging these for the next 6-9 months tops, I plan to rotate what I have down there regularly.
    Sorry, haha, so long.

You're fine. Long term storage and I would be worried but less than a year and I wouldn't be too concerned.

Thanks for the quick response. Today is the first warm and humid day we've had since last year so the really rusty wheel in my head started turning thinking about what I have downstairs. I wasn't overly concerned but I figured (after a fruitless search) asking the BA experts would address my concern. Thanks.

I have mine in an unplugged fridge in my basement and my situation is much like yours. Stays relatively cool throughout the fall, winter and spring (45-50) but noticed it at about 60+ the last few days. The fridge protects the light issue and I ended up plugging it in and keeping it at the warmest setting, mid to high 40s now. Best I can do.

Thanks. It didn't occur to me to click on that thread because of the lambic part, but some of the responses reassure me. I just want good beer to stay that way....good. And, possibly, get better.
