i leave in northwest PA. With the exception of July through August, the tempterure of my cellar will average 65-68. In summer, highs will hit 71-75. I only cellar stouts and barley wines. I want to age for multiple years 5-7 years. Am I living a pipe dream because of the summer month heat?

I'm in southeast PA and deal with similar temps. And until last week I just kept my beers in a closest. I realized my collection was worth more than a mini fridge so I finally got one.

Anyways, before that I had let some beers go 2+ years without strict temp control and the darker ones did fine (DFH WWS, Voodoo BBVD). But, like you, I now have some beers I want to keep much longer and don't want to open one to find it's probably been bad for years.

Where do you keep your beer I'm a little north of Pittsburgh and I've set up an intake and exhaust system in my beer cellar which is in my basement it stays 60 when the outside temps come close to 90

would love some photos. Sounds sweet. Good idea.
My basement luckily stays below 68-70 even on the hottest days. Plus being in a dark rubbermaid tote on cold concrete im not worried. The winter temp drops down to ~48. at least the variation is towards the lower end.
