Nothing special tonight. Next time I get together with my "drinking buddies", we will share something good to ease the pain.

Pretty easy for me to find. Sits all over the shelves here.

I scored a bottle of Cinnamon Roll'd Wake-n-Back today and a bottle of North Coast John Barleycorn a couple of days ago. When the time comes to share these (and others) with friends, I will relate this story, they will give me crap about it and we will share a laugh or two. That is what it is really about.

That exact same thing almost happened to me. I went into a local store and saw they had an entire portion of a shelf in the cooler chock full of Backwoods Bastard, so I decided to stroll to the back of the shop and browse the bombers before checking out. Came back up to the cooler less than five minutes later to pick up my BB and the whole section of the shelf had been cleaned out! :stuck_out_tongue:

Fortunately the manager was nice enough to dig around in the back until he found another case (their last) and got me a four-pack, so it was just a close call. But still, lesson learned.

Just look at this way, you know all those "what beer put you over the edge" or "what beer made you obsessed with craft" threads? Well maybe this is the beer that will send that guy deep into the wonderful world of craft, heck maybe he'll even pop up in one of those threads years from now talking about the Backwoods Bastard. In short, someone else may have just got exposed to a great beer. That a good thing!

Or they could have had it a million times and are picking it up for someone that's going to trade them Heady, but don't think of that option.....

Well, the Backwoods Bastard was the first thing he picked up, so I think he knew what he was doing. But yeah, he may recognize himself in this thread, someday. And maybe we can have some more fun giving him crap about it. :grinning: I got my Cinnamon Roll'd Wake-n-Bake, so I think I will recover from this trauma.

Hey man, at least you weren't near the beer. I remember being at a store looking at a bottle of Brooklyn Black Ops. I wasn't really interested in buying it because it was so expensive, but I was definitely standing in front of it and looking/thinking. Anyway, a dude steps right in front grabs all three bottles that were there and heads for the cash register. Again, I wasn't going to buy them, so whatever, but I think about the person in a similar situation that may have wanted them, was contemplating it and then got boxed out by this clown. People like that exist everywhere, I know, but it breaks my heart to see it in the craft world, which is a group of people that love an item that is rooted in sharing and community.

There's a reason "sayings" are long lasting...."he who hesitates is lost (or thirsty)" And, yes, Backwoods Bastard is worth being upset about not finding!

I was the guy that picked it up..Just kidding, but I did buy a case this year as soon as it hit shelves. Plenty to trade if you're interested, even if you just want 1 or 2.

I had a bottle of assassin in my hand. I hadn't really heard of Toppling Goliath at the time and it was $26 so I put it back. Needless to say after I did some research I was kicking myself. Luckily I told my brother in law about it and he swooped it up. We shared it a couple months ago!
