Ten Fidy bottling date

    Anyone kept a can of Ten Fidy for an extended time?
    I just bought a few cans which have a bd of 10/31/11.
    Does Oskar Blues delay the distribution of this beer?

    Never bought a old can, but I can tell you it should be delicious! Ten FIDY ages very well.

    wouldnt it be a canning date?:slight_smile:

    but I had a year old can earlier this year and it was awesome.

    I have cans from the first batch that was canned back in 2007.

    So yes, I've kept fans for an extended period of time.

    ProTip: Look for the oldest cans you can find.

    It's been hit or miss with old Ten Fidy cans for me. While some cans I've opened and have been fine, I opened up a year old can with the local OB sales rep the last time he was around and it definitely was a soy-bomb.

    I think it gets better for a long time after canning. I buy year old cans from the fridge at the local store all the time..got a 4 pack in the fridge now bottled on 10-9-11

    I've found 2-4 year old cans on the shelves here. All have been excellent. I truly don't know what a fresh can of Ten Fidy tastes like.

    No light, No air, as long as the temp is pretty constant it should be good I would think.

    Drink those cans and enjoy the hell out of them. One year old Ten fidy is better than fresh.

    Bought a 4-pack canned in November 2010 earlier this year and it was drinking great.

    Just found a 4-pack that was canned in November 2009 at a local shop. Can't wait to try them. Expecting great things.

    2012 batch is starting to show up around here, so looking forward to comparing both the 2009 and 2010 versions to this years.

    2012 Ten Fidy in TX but my ass is still waiting for it to drop in CO... WTF OB?

    Ninja edit, just got a text from the local bottle shop that its on shelves now...

    What is the deal with that? I bought a 4-pack a couple months back. First time I ever had Ten Fidy and it was great. Went back and got another 4-pack and this one was terrible. The beer was definitely off and I guess it did have a soy sauce type flavor to it. Can anyone explain? I really enjoyed this beer the first time around but now I'm hesitant to purchase again.

    im drinking a year old ten fidy next to a fresh one right now, and the year old one is much better imo, much smoother
