But both of these are better than Founder's IS. IMHO.

    Why can't I vote ?

Both beers have great quality's , Both age really well , Bell's is more hoppy out the gate but mellows nicely with a year on it , TenFidy is good to go right out the gate ..Both are solid but since I wasn't able to vote the world will never know which one I chose ..

Just had my 1st Ten Fidy. Very nice!! Even brought one home ( thanks Troy ).
Gotta give Expedition the nudge though.

Now value overall = Ten Fidy wins out.

If both are fresh I might pick a Ten Fidy. But I always have Expedition in the cellar so I don't usually have that problem. Last year I laid some Ten Fidys down (put them next to the Expeditions so maybe they will learn from them:grinning:) so we'll see what happens.

Not sure... but just had a Beer Geek Breakfast and a Founder's Breakfast Stout and the Mikkeller totally kills it. Way better.

I feel like ten fidy is more balanced in that the roasty flavors work well with the carbonation and you can tell it is high abv but in a good way. Though it is sweet it doesn't tast like some dirty syrup.

Expedtion is a more interesting taste, and i feel like licorice really stands out. It feels more exotic and the boosiness is nice and not overwhelming but it is a tad sweet.

    Both very nice beers.

Id rather have an expedition once in a while; i keep ten fidy in the fridge for....whenever soembody wants a stout and we don't feel like opening a crazy one.

I agree with this 100%. Beer Geek Breakfast was awesome, I finally got to try a FBS because my liquor store guy traded for some cool stuff and hooked a few of us up with some. I was super disappointed after all the hype. Mikkeller kills the coffee stout market.

I commented before and I already voted Expedition, but I agree with what some people are saying here. Ten Fidy wins fresh, but IMO Expedition is the better overall

I've never had Expedition fresh, but I had an '08 last year and it was one of the best beers I've ever had. Again, can't speak for fresh, but Expedition wins by a lot for me.

expedition is a little harsh at first, but with a little age, those hops really mellow out, the alcohol fades, and the flavors mend together very nicely...easily putting it past ten fidy. having said that, fresh out of a new batch, ten fidy wins.

Looking at my ratings, it's Ten Fidy by a small margin over Expedition (4.47 over 4.43). And coincidentally I just bought a 4 pack of Ten Fidy today (and some Deviant Dales too) in honor of Oskar Blues coming to Ohio! But I do like both brews a lot, I can't go wrong with either one.

I don't feel comfortable storing beer in a can. It tends to taste like the can. The can is all I seem to taste no matter how old it is!!!!!!!! and for the expedition it getts better with age, and starts off pretty good fresh!!!!!
