I saw a case of TenFidy that was canned in 10/12 for sale at a local distributor. The price was ~$74. I might be able to talk them into a discount. Light isn't an issue. I have no idea about temps it was kept at. Is it worth it and should I go back and get it? Thanks.
It's still quite good with a couple years on it and the heat mellows a little. My experience has been that you sometimes get the congealed protein (beer snot) thing happening, but it doesn't detract from the taste. It still comes to about $3.00 a beer. I'd try to get it for $60. I don't think it will have much trade value.
Where in PA are you? TenFidy isn't rare at all in the Philly area, but 72 sounds like a good price, considering 4 pks are always $15. Then again, it is an old batch and it's better new
I'm in the central Pa area. I have seen older ones thrown in boxes as extras. It is one of the best shelf beers out there and I do love it fresh, I just haven't tried it with any age on it. I may try to go back and see if I can get it with a discount. I wouldn't be getting it to trade, but rather drink/extras.
Definitely buy it if you can get a 15-25% discount. Ask for 25% and see what they say. Ha a year and a half old can on national stout day and it was fantastic. But that was cellared at 50° though.
