Flying into W.Palm tomorrow on my way to Port St Lucie, was thinking about hitting Tequesta Brewing Co on my way up. For you SE FL locals, is it worth a stop or should I stay on 95 and keep heading North?
I think it is. You can always call and see what they have on tap before you stop. Also, its not very far off 95, maybe 10 minutes.
What little I've come across from them has been good, I would definitely stop by if I were in the area.
It's a cool little place, definitely worth the stop. It's pretty small and gets crowded so if you're showing up during peak hours you might not be able to get a seat. Also, Vine and Barley in Palm City has some decent stuff on tap, I was in there on Saturday night and they had Horchada, Invasion, and Jai Alai from Cigar City on tap.
Have never been to Tequesta's tap room but have sampled several of their beers at various tap takeovers around South FL and they were very good. I think stopping by would definitely be a good idea and come back and let us know how it was! I have extended family in Pt St Lucie so I'd like to swing by there sometime as well.
Tequesta was my spot before I moved to Tampa and I lived in Fort Lauderdale so I would regularly drive up there(over an hour) to get their beer.
I visited Tequesta a couple weeks ago and was very impressed...cool little place, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and a pretty nice variety of beers. I was also pleasantly surprised that a flight of 6 - 4 ounce pours cost $7...I almost felt guilty, like I was ripping them off!
Glad I made the stop. Great little place, knowledgeable and friendly staff and an excellent Czech Pils on tap. One of the better Czech Pils I've had in a long while. The kolsch was equally good as well. Also stopped by Sailfish Brewing Co. in Ft. Pierce, can't quite say the same for them. The Pale Ale seemed a little off, either fermented too warm or they rushed it on tap. Nice place, hope the quality of beer improves.
I love Tequesta...they brew a great variety of beers, including some under-represented styles (Czech Pils, Dortmunder, Altbier, etc) and brew them excellently. Their cask Wednesdays are phenomenal as well.
