Tries OK-Si the other night. Was kinda off for me. Thin, boozy, unpleasant.

I was also disappointed by OK-Si. Thin and tequila boozy.

Love tequila here. Starting to get into mezcal as well. I had no idea that there was such a thing as tequila barrel aged beers until I saw this post. Now I just need to try and track down some of these popular ones. The Firestone Walker one sounded most impressive, but I have not yet figured out the bottle swap etiquette. Hoping one of the many Chi breweries trots out a tequila barrel brew soon.

Myslef and my girlfriend's favorite shot is a prairie fire (tequila with a dash of Tabasco) I never thought about a tequila barrel beer though. If prairie artisan ales were to somehow make a tequila barrel aged beer and infuse Tabasco into it I'd go to the extents of existence to get it. I realize it may sound disgusting but we all have different tastes.

Personally I really enjoy nice sipping tequila...and have a bottle of SN Tequila Barrel Aged Lime Ale...should I go for it ASAP or let it rest for a bit?

Bayerischer Banhof--same brewery that makes Leipziger Gose makes a Tequila Gose that is very tasty.

Agave maria gets hate on this site, but as a tequila lover i feel like this beer best captures the essence of what good aƱejo tequila is.

2015 Wicked Weed Dark Arts is pretty tasty. Big enough brew to handle tequila. Nice light touch of flavor hovering around.

Westbrook has a bunch of Gose sitting in Tequila barrels right now. I'm curious to see how it comes out!

Those are both fantastic Tequila barrel-aged beers! Wicked Weed Dark Arts 2015 will be joining that list soon!

Someone else mentioned Fate Brewing's Uror gose that was aged on tequila/mezcal barrels. I LOVED that beer. I think the pairing of the gose (salty/tart) and tequila is brilliant since they complement each other quite well. No doubt that Westbrook's take will be equally delicious.

    Pallet 4 was pretty solid
OK-Si was hot, a little messy
Roble Blanco was a masterpiece, so good.
Tequila Mexican Cake holds the crown though. Thanks again to @raczkowski again for poppin' my cherry!

Modern Times does a variant of its Devils Teeth on mezcal barrels. Picking up a bomber soon, so haven't had a chance to try it yet. Otherwise, Avery's Fortuna is probably the way to go.

It just doesn't seem like these two worlds were meant to cross-pollenate. I've never had anything that really worked by blending the flavors of tequila/meszcal and beer. It's like chicken & chocolate. It seems like no one is crazy about the examples discussed here, either.

See above, @ShanePB had mentioned on page 1...:slight_smile:but I totally agree with you! PNC is one of my FW favorites.

I always thought I Prairie Fire was 151 + Tabasco, but I may try your take on it!

    Tequila Cake absolutely #1.

Also thought the Xocoveza Extra Anejo was tasty, although mine was definitely not lacking in carb:confused:
