I'm excited about what RedBrick is doing.. They have upped their bottle artwork, and have expanded their line up and styles. I'm hoping they continue, because everyone thinks they are shelf turds around here. I send them out as locals and people love 'em.

Anyways- Here's to hoping we get CR WnB inside the 2-3 weeks that everyone else had it. And here's to the complete shit show that makes getting KBS 'easy'.

Went by Stella on my lunch break and was directed to Whole Foods. They said they got a case about 2 hours before I arrived and it was gone like poof.

I can't agree enough w the shelf turd statement. 20th Anniversary was absolutely better than some of the more hyped beers in the style for 2013 hands down. I sent them out as random extras constantly and got a ton of surprised praises back...I had to tell them Red Brick doesn't always brew such good stuff though :slight_frown: They are on a hot streak though for sure and I am stoked with what they have down the pipeline. Easily the most exciting larger scale brewery at the moment, I feel personally, in GA. Orpheus should be opening next year though and that will be awesome, and Mazurt always makes insane offerings if you can find them. Burnt Hickory is VERY hit or miss for me...and unfortunately the few times I've hit brewery days I wasn't super enthralled with the experience.

Back on topic, I think CRWnB will hit the city in at least some of the stores on Monday/Tuesday...so hopefully we can all get at least one. I think people will be less generous with this one though vs MCMH as the trade value is noticeably higher. We'll see...

Tell me more...I'm assuming this is a Brick Mason release that barrel stout they had not too long ago was fantastic.

I wasn't saying Redbrick was "shelf turds". I was implying that people THINK that. Their stuff doesn't seem to fly off, and get sought after quite as much. I don't like any of their normal offerings save for their brown and their porter. The Brick Mason stuff is fun as shit though.

20th was a fantastic beer. I think the Lost Years had the best barrel character they've gotten yet. I'm drooling for the Beard Envy to come out. I bet it'll be amazing. The new brewer for them has made all the difference I think.

As for CR WnB, I full expect it to be two fold worse than WCMH.

So much agreement it's not even funny. I won't go off a tangent, but BHB is definitely riding the hype train and has built up a cult following based simply on demand. It's literally like watching brainwashed people wander around in search of their beers.

CWNB hits us on Thursday, and with the WCMH showing I expect a ton of people standing around again. Funny thing, the line forms, but the 13th person and after to show up obviously knows they're not getting any, seems weird they keep standing around anyway. It's not like the line is for Brooklyn Lager or something....maybe they're hoping they can crack a skull on the sidewalk and run off with one.

20th was the BT barrel stout. They have beard envy, which is a big barleywine aged in the 2nd use BT barrels from the stout.

When is that hitting? Hopefully it's like the 20th, stayed on shelves forever, think I was the only one buying it. I wish they made the vanilla gorilla the same as the first year, that was good stuff too.

just for clarity sake, that's how i read your comment and how i was referring to it. that people don't think it's as good as it would be in a blind taste test. lost years made me start looking at red brick again actually...

Alright Atliens, today is the day. Looks like HopCity is releasing at 6pm and Green's at 5pm. 1 bottle limit for both. Still pretty miffed at other states getting it sooner and people walking out with multiple bombers.

Tower had a 2:00 release. Got there at 2:03 - already sold out.

These timed releases are crap. All it does is bring all the clowns out of the woodwork that never step foot in the store except when da rarez hit. These stores need to move to rewards systems.

    Gonna be a shit show!

Kudos to Hopcity for planning it at a 6PM release. Moved it back to keep the people from complaining as much. Doesn't stop the people waitin in line since 2PM probably, and making them stay for 4 hours before they hand out tickets and move on.

Ill probably sit this dance out.. It's not gonna be worth the fight.

I'm right there with ya. I usually try to get at least some of the special releases around town (with pretty good results), but I dont think im even going to try on this one. This is out of hand. Oh well.

Does anyone know of this hitting any place in the Naples/Collier County area in Florida? I called 1-2 stores, and they said they'd be happy to call their distributor to order some for me (I don't think they understood what this was).

Let's calm down the hyperboles. At 5:30 I was #34. Still pretty ridiculous.

and i just got a text from a buddy that said #48 was passed out at like 5:35 for their 6pm release. not saying they handled it wrong (there really isn't a good way for this release i think), just sayin' that it was "sold out" 25 mins before 6pm. congrats to those that made it out! i'm still at work for a solid 30-45 min longer...
