Terrapin Mega Update

I can't think of many draft only Terrapin releases that weren't brewery only (for festivals) or for other special events. I think small amounts of Substance Abuse and Big Sloppy Monster used to pop up at bars in GA occasionally, but those aren't exactly large scale draft only releases.

 

But they can't sell it at the brewery. They can't do growler fills, so if they don't bottle it, they can only send it to bars, and there's a pretty limited market for that.

 

The first run of Tree Hugger was draft only, and the Twilight Kolsch has always been.

 

Don't forget growler shops. Yeah, the market for draft only is limited, but it's big enough for one tank.

 

Im going to buy a second fridge and reserve it solely for Cinnamon Rolled WnB.

 

Good call on Tree Hugger. Even though it pops up at bars and growler shops, I'd consider the Kolsh a special event beer, since it's brewed for the Twilight Criterium.

 

Is anyone else concerned with the price point of the Cinnamon WnB? With regular WnB jumping to $13/4pack last year, the variant has the potential to go even higher. It's going to start bumping into KBS's price point soon.

 

9.99 was the 2011 and previous price in Athens. It was 12.99 in Athens in 2012. It's probably still on shelves at that price in some places around here.

 

I'll be getting both of those releases when they come out. Draft only or bottles!

Anyone seen 2012 WnB sitting around shelves in the ATL area (especially south side)? Trying to locate some to take on a road trip for a buddy and it's long gone at all my usual haunts.

And growler stores, of which there are shit-tons of now. Look at Burnt Hickory. They don't bottle anything.

 

Burnt Hickory also doesn't have nearly the amount of product that Terrapin does. I'm willing to bet that one tank at Terrapin is a good deal larger than a full run at Burnt Hickory.

Either way, it's senseless to argue about. It will be in bottles or it won't. We'll know soon enough.

Just a timely bump. Looks like the White Choc Moo Hoo label has been exposed by Beer Street Journal, which at least means we'll be able to buy bombers of this delicacy!
