Terrapin Mega Update

Yeah, AmEx totally not liking me for that charge amount on a case of beer, I'm sure, either.

 

So it's hit pretty much everywhere except Athens, funny how that works.

 

I'll intro this by saying I know nothing about the relationship between Terrapin and NE Sales and the distribution of their beer. However these Athens rollouts continue to disappoint on Terrapin releases. As much as I'd like to brag about local beer - getting beer in town sometimes days after everyone else makes this feel not so local.

That said I hear Athens will maybe get bottles today. For anyone else who's landed WCMH I hope it's every bit of awesome as it sounds.

Yeah, Atlanta has been left out in the cold.. Pretty much the way it happens for our "local" guys. No local love from the bigger breweries, ever.

So, hows it tasting ya'll, or is everyone hoarding it?

 

Drank one last night. Tastes like a vanilla moohoo.

 

Pretty solid taste, though I didn't let mine chill long enough. It doesn't have that overly chocolate aspect regular MH has, at least to me it doesn't. I like it a lot, but I'm a big regular MH fan, so I'm easily impressed.

 

Anyone seen this in NC yet?

for those non-georgia BA's, have your local shops handled WCMH like any other big release? I.E. did they have bottle limits? Were their allocations smaller than other highly anticipated releases? did you have to visit multiple shops to secure a large amount? Curious to see how places are handling this.

 

In savannah last night it was 1 per person. We went to two shops. They second store had no limit and there were only 3 bottles left.

 

There were no bottle limits when I went, but I was most likely the first one there to buy it, they may have limits instituted there now. Allocation sounded pretty small, didn't get an exact number. I got all of mine at the same place.

 

White Chocolate Moo-Hoo has landed at Duckworths Park Rd and Huntersville locations... Come and get 'em!

 

in Raleigh and Durham today! Ridgewood, Tasty, and Sam's

 

Sold out at tasty in 45 minutes, they got 12.

 

And still no word from any of the Atlanta shops about availability. Pretty nuts.

 

If we haven't heard already, today's probably not a possibility. My guess is Thursday.

 

I was hoping today would be the day as I will be over by hop city later but it doesn't look good.

 

Curious what people's thoughts on the actual beer are, as there still aren't any reviews posted. I loathe white chocolate and am relatively indifferent to regular MH so I can't say this sounds too appetizing to me, but people seem to be going nuts for it.
