Terrapin snifter?

I don't remember seeing one at the brewery about a month ago. All I've ever seen from them are the pint glasses, pilsner glass, and a weird mason jar type glass.

 

Are you talking about this one? (It seems to be identical to the CBS glass)



I grabbed mine back in '08. wish I had a 2nd one. I don't think they've been made since. It's easily my favorite glass, I doubt there's a glass out there I'd trade it for (including the couple different Bourbon County glasses)

 

I've only seen pictures like the one above. I've been in Athens a long time (I remember drinking Rye Pale when it was tap only in the early 2000s), and I have never personally seen a Terrapin Snifter.

I have about two dozen Terrapin shaker pints, and I have one "Hop Tulip," which is basically a tapered pint glass that was passed out at the Hop Harvest this year. They also sell the mason jar style glasses at the brewery, but I've never ponied up the extra cash for one - I don't find them very attractive.

 

They need to come out with some snifters again! What am I suppose to pour my Wake N Bake in?

 

How big is that one? I thought the CBS glasses were not very large.

It does not look like the Terrapin snifter I have which is a 22oz one. It is the same glass as the Free the Hops snifter with a Terrapin logo on it. There is a picture of the FTH one on this page that you can click to see.

It's the 22oz one, I guess the picture doesn't make it look as round as it is, I was trying to get the logo to be visible. The CBS snifter is the same size

 

The picture posted above of the Terrapin glass that looks like its got a stout in it was given out at their 10th Anniversary party.

 

Unfortunately I have not seen those in a long time. Hopefully they will do something similar soon.

 

They were only available for a short period of time and it was a LONG time ago. There have been a few threads since where people were looking for them and I have never seen anyone say they came across them again. Historically, it seems like Terrapin glassware is done in small quantities and does not seem to be made more than once (other than shaker pints of course).

 

A good buddy of mine has 2, he got them at the reunion party earlier this year.

They sell snifters?
I managed to pick up one if their barrel/keg glasses at a Terrapin tasting over the summer.

 

Sell would imply currently selling them. I think that answer is no. They have sold them in the past as the above pictures show.

I am betting it wont be long before we start seeing threads like this for that barrel/keg glass. I assume they will not make more of those just like they seem to have done with their other interesting glassware.

 

I don't drink out of mine. It's a nice glass, that I'd be worried about messing up in the dishwasher. I'll probably bring mine into the office and put pens in it.

The barrel glass? Nah, I've used it lots, and washed in the dishwasher. Seems to be fine.

 

the barrel glass is just about bomb-proof. I dropped it one time and it bounced.
