Terrapin W-n-B 2014

    Just got 2014 Wake-n-Bake and while It's always been my fav Terrapin beer, it seemed even better than usual. While the coffee is still very prominent, it seems a little less bitter than 2013. Did a Founders Breakfast Stout/Terrapin W-n-B comparison last year and preferred Founders because i felt like the addition of chocolate lent a sweetness that offset the coffee flavor and made for a more balanced beer. Almost everyone else present preferred the big bold coffee flavor of the W-n-B. This year however, I'm really preferring the W-n-B to the Breakfast Stout. Has anyone out there tried this years and noticed a difference?

    Can't decide if this is all in my head but while drinking another W-n-B last night I really felt 2014 tasted more like 2012 than 2013. Does anyone know if terrapin uses different coffee from Jittery Joe's each year? That could explain the difference.

    This may be the first thread I've seen where someone claims a beer is better this year than last :slight_smile:

    I have yet to try 2014 so I have to withhold my comments for now!

    Also want :stuck_out_tongue: hah. Founder's Breakfast Stout is great though, would have no complaints drinking either on a regular basis.

    It does seem particularly delicious this year and it was released earlier in my market than in years past so that was a nice surprise as well. Has anyone outside of GA and TN seen 2014 W-n-B in their state?

    I do think it's pretty tasty this year. Coffee can change as well so it could have been a better year.

    I think it's top notch this year. Better that past years for sure. A little smoother, although slightly thinner perhaps.

    I agree. I've always liked wnb but I found it to be even better this year. Not sure if it had anything to do w the tenth anniversary but the flavors really feel sharp and fresh and very natural. It might just be me but I'm also tasting some cinnamon notes that I don't remember from last years.

    If you are looking for the W-N-B Craft Brewed has plenty, should have some Founders BS, Backwoods also. Frugals has the Founders also

    if anyone sees any W n B in the Pittsburgh area please let me know . One of my all time fav beers.

    2013 was very good IMO. 2012 was way off since it was lacking coffee and its traditional oat character. Actually popped one from 2010 a few weeks back and it was surprisingly solid. Faint coffee character but nice chocolate, oat bitterness.

    I have only found 2 bottles of WnB 2014 so far, and had one of them. After having 2014 WnB, and 2014 FBS....it may just be me, but I thoroughly enjoyed the FBS much more. Of course, WnB 2014 still hasn't shown up everywhere in town yet, either, just 1 small place.

    Shit I still haven't seen any Wake n Bake and I live in GA for cryin' out loud. Terrapin stop shafting your south GA homies.... This isn't the first time this has happened...

    Sounds like W-n-B, Moo-hoo and Moo-hoochiato should all hit NC retail today. A little strange in my opinion to have all three land at the same time...
