I got into craft beer last winter when this was already out. I was wondering if anyone has read/heard when this will be hitting the shelves? I tweeted at Terrapin, but have not heard back from them.

Don't know, but I'm keeping my ears open too, since this beer is fantastic. Definitely one of the best coffee beers I've ever had.

Terrapins OakedBig Hoppy Monster just came out almost a month ago. Wake n bake is next in line on the "monster beer tour", so start looking for it in late November, possibly early December! Can't wait, it's one of their best brews.

Moo hoo just came out, so I'd imagine it's not too far behind

That is awful. It would be last years too.

Would be last years vintage. That said, it ages quite well. I have some old bottles from 2009 of WnB, back when it was contract brewed!

Drinks good still, but not sure I'd toss up $7.50 for one bottle myself.

Yeah got a bottle as extra in a trade, had for breakfast a couple weeks ago. Don't think it supports that price tag for 12ounces

The only four pack I got was in February for $3.99 because the owner said that "stout season is over." I was happy enough because it was marked from $11.99

Still got last year's down here. Still tastes good too. I think I might like WnB better that FBS, which I just got to have a few bottles of this past week for the first time.

    Interesting.

That'd be illegal in NJ and many other states to sell under cost. (which I'm sure was $8-9)

Anyone know the distribution for this one? I didn't see it last year here in NJ and I've heard nothing but good things.

I've got a case of 2012 in my cellar. Picked them up for $1/bottle at TW in Tampa back in March, day before Hunahpu Day at CCB. Talk about an awesome weekend. :sunglasses:

Purchased it in north jersey last year a few times...it's my favorite alternative to FBS.
Found it at sparrow wine in Hoboken and super buy rite in Jersey City

I find that interesting, since i was at TW that day and it definitely was not $1 per bottle. You know someone who slid you 6 four packs for the price of 2?

Given that Terrapin isn't distributed in CA, it sounds like you are seeing a premium price probably based on a few things...1) the stores source probably paid retail for it, 2) any shipping costs incurred to get it to CA and 3) whatever the store feels is fair for the risk of offering beers outside of their established distribution. Now given that these cost about $3 each in a four pack, where distributed and if a store even in that distribution area were to break them into singles, would add a per bottle premium to do so, that means that a single bottle probably would retail for about $4 even in a state where Terrapin is distributed. So really, when you start to add on the shipping costs and the risk, the extra $3.50 isn't that bad of a premium, especially considering that there are probably only about 4 places in the whole state of CA that go out on a limb to do this type of stuff. I am not saying that I would be the target audience for a $7.50 bottle and obviously you are also not that target customer, but there definitely are people who would pay $7.50 a bottle for something like that, just to avoid the hassles of trading.

Maybe, but who would actually bother to complain about a store charging too little?
