While we have our stupid beer laws, I guess I should be happy to know I can buy sale beer and have happy hour.

Nope, they had (I think) about 6 cases of it, at $3.99/4-pack (I typed it as $1/bottle in my first post to save time). At the time, I was working by the Stadium and would check TW's website daily to see if there were any good deals I could grab at lunch time. That day, they had both Moo Hoo and Wake n Bake for $3.99/4-pack. I put two cases of Wake in my cart, but was told it was a 1 case limit.

Come to think of it now, they may not have had much Moo Hoo, and I may be confused with the Wake n Bake. I maybe only got 2 4-packs of Moo Hoo that day in Tampa. I know I bought a bunch more of Moo Hoo that weekend at the TW in Clearwater.

WNB is amazing (and one of my personal favorites as you can see from my avatar).

They are releasing Cinnamon Rolled Wake N Bake (which they were originally going to call French Toasted WNB) this year as well. Terrapin tweeted me that it would be released in bombers and distributed to their markets later in the winter. I can't wait to try this!

There is also going to be White Chocolate Moo Hoo (which I believe is regular moo hoo with actual white chocolate added.) Also released in bombers I think.

I was under the impression that the Cinnamon rolled WnB and White Choc Moo Hoo were going to be draft only, but to know they are going to be released in bottles in great news.

Bottle release, 22oz. Limited, and probably won't make it to many of their far off markets in great numbers I would bet.

    Lucky you!

I specifically grabbed a 4 pack from TW Friday around 1:00ish to start off with Saturday in line, and I paid the usual $12.99 or so. I feel sore now. Lol.

Ouch. Now, I work in downtown Clearwater, and the deals just don't seem to be that frequent any more. Strange, since there's so much stuff that's been sitting on their shelves for months. I live about 10 minutes from the TW in St. Pete. They had nearly a whole pallet of SN Bigfoot 2013 stacked up at regular price, over by the cigar humidor. The 2014 will be out in about 3 months, and they still have 50 cases of the 2013 that was bottled on 1/4/13??? :astonished:

I must have missed it on their feed, as I received the same repsonse:

@Cubatobaco That one's a December release. Not too far off...

A lot of stores have smartened up (or at the very least, now have a vague notion) about people aging beers. I think that the years of scoring great clearances on stouts, winter ales, Belgians (in general), are now long gone. But I think that because so many stores just have a vague idea about this, that they are also probably less likely to be clearing out beers that should not be aged. In CA, it has been at least three years since stores there have had decent clearance beers.

But also, especially with a chain like TW, they may get themselves into a bind because distributors do not want stores to overbuy. So if a store is sitting on old stock on a certain beer, that can affect how much (if any) of that beer that they will get the next time around. Or even other limited releases from that same brewery. I know from Bev'Mo in CA, that stores that were sitting on stock of previous limited or seasonal releases from a brewery, might get stiffed on the next release. Or if the chain itself was flooded, the whole chain may not get the next release. If a distributor has to decide who is getting what quantity of a limited release that everybody is clamoring for, you can't prioritize stores that are sitting on stacks of a seasonal that is already 8 months old on the floor.

But that isn't written in stone anywhere and TW has an unusual amount of leverage based on their over all volume. Also, every distributor will handle it differently and may even be working closely with requests of certain breweries on how to handle this issue. An independent store can pull inventory for aging, if they want, because it is easily handled in an inventory management system, but a chain is going to show all that inventory as being on the floor or in their distribution center, so depending on how closely they deal with their suppliers, they may have distributors viewing how much inventory that they are sitting on.

Hell yeah! Although since we in VA already get all the Side Project beers, So Fresh So Green, etc. I am hoping we won't have to drive too far and that they land right in our backyard for us.

I am going to Nashville on Halloween week. I was hoping this would be released by the time I got there. Oh well. I have a feeling I will enjoy whatever Side Project beers I can find there. The Hopiscutioner the was brought back to me from NC a few weeks ago tells me I will not be disappointed.

Heck yeah! I don't care how old the beer might be. Seeing all of those walkers crashing down on the cases of Terrapin and SweetWater broke my beer loving heart. Forget the idiot trapped under the shelving . . . save the Terrapin! (Sorry for the slight threadjack!)
