It comes down to different tastes. I liked WnB because it had the strongest coffee taste, but other people at the tasting loved FBS a lot more. Different strokes for different folks.

I like WnB just a tad more than FBS

I preferred fbs a ton. I don't know what it is but a lot of terraping beers seem really thin to me. Especially moo hoo. I had my gf drink 3 of the remaining 4 when I picked that up a month ago. It may be that I've been drinking heavy stouts that may as well be a meal haha

I bet if you were on a thread entitled "Founders Breakfast Stout" rather than "Terrapin Wake N Bake", the results would be reversed.

People see a thread for a beer that they revere, they're more likely going to come and comment on it than if it's one that's not a favorite.

The ratings on this sight may suggest otherwise

Maybe people are subconsciously (or purposely) giving the Founders beer a higher score because it's a revered, independent craft brewery whereas they are scoring Terrapin beers lower because Miller Coors is a minority owner.

Of course, that wouldn't explain the high scores for Goose Island.

I also like the coffee beers. Any others from other breweries you suggest coffee wise?

While i like both fbs and wnb a lot i find that fbs has a richer mouthfeel and more of a bitter profile on the palate. For those reasons i enjoy fbs over wnb. I find wnb to be amongst the sweetest of coffee stouts ive tried. Fbs is also marketed as a chocolate coffee stout. The two beers are actually quite different

I would recommend having them side by side if you think FBS has a richer mouthfeel. I promise you that is not remotely the case.

Just my opinion. I've had them both countless times. WnB is smooth and creamy, but it doesn't have the fullness and richness I get from FBS. I don't find either to be super heavy or sticky like a ten fidy or big bad baptist

    Say whaaaaaa?

I'm not gonna lie, I'm kind of bummed to learn this. I like knowing that my money is going to someone who actually needs it to keep their business afloat, instead of someone who needs it to keep their yacht afloat.

But seeing as I don't live in a state that gets Terrapin anymore, I guess I don't have to struggle internally as to whether or not I want to keep buying it

Recently found a 4pk and really enjoyed it. I like WnB and FBS about the same.
