Last night when drinking one, I noticed that the label said "Vintage 2015", which would imply that the brewery is saying it's a good beer to cellar. I looked up their website and it says "hide a few away and pull one out for a special event 2-3 years later!"

I would think the coffee flavor would fade. What are people's experiences?

I recently had a 2014 and it changed immensely. The coffee became much less pronounced, a little perfumey if that makes sense, sweet with big fruit notes. Nice to try, still probably prefer it fresh.

I did a '12, '13, '14 last year liked it best fresh. The 12 had almost no coffee in it and the 13 had a burnt coffee flavor. 14 was really, really good though.

The beer to me has way too much coffee fresh so a year mellows that, but it's also very thin to start with so it never tastes good enough to enjoy.

Time does this beer no favors. I much prefer it fresh. YOu might like it after 6 months if you want to coffee to fade, but I've tried fresh and with a year on it more than once and fresh is a lot better.

I also liked it more before they upped the ABV a couple years back.

Thanks for the feedback, y'all. I think the beer is pretty tasty fresh, so I'm going to drink it all now.

2014 vintage had a surprisingly nice coffee flavor. This was probably the sweet spot. It was fantastic.
