While this isn't a new feature, it's new to these forums and enabled a couple of weeks ago so I could test things out. In a nutshell: thread tagging simply allows us to tag threads with keywords to increase content discoverability. Tags are optional and will appear under the thread title and can be clicked on to see the most recent threads. For example, here's a link to the "lager" tag: https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/tags/lager/ Threads may also have multiple tags, like the following thread that's tagged with lager and oktoberfest: https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/sierra-nevada-oktoberfest-lookout-thread-2023.673595/ Currently, I'm the only one that can create tags and mods are the only ones who can tag threads. I also did some bulk tagging of existing threads to kick things off. You can view them here: Forums > Search Forums > Tags https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/tags/ In the near future, the ability to create tags will be extended to the mod team, tagging threads will be extended to Society members and Pooh-Pahs, and everyone else will be able to use the thread report feature to request adding/removing tags to a thread. @SoCalBeerIdiot: I believe the thread that you're referring to is tags for beers, which is completely different and something that we did explore, but other priorities at the time kept on kicking it down the road. It's a massive project that would require dedicated resources to build a custom system to support beer tags (including processing existing reviews), and right now I'm the sole resource dedicated to BeerAdvocate. Thread tags is built into the forum's core. No coding required.
