Heh...still don't get why they think $50 would be worth it.

Why bother with VIP? What is the point? People will buy shirts if they want shirts while they are there. If they are good designs, they will sell.

Parking? Show up early, have parking, no reason to charge for it. Just seems like they are trying to make money off of parking. Pretty much the equivalent of charging for parking on site for a brewery party.

Getting in an hour early? Why is that important? Only reason is to be able to leave a little early once the crowds start coming in.

Bathrooms? I am a guy. Give me a bush and I will be good.

I am assuming that anyone who bought tickets originally are getting some money back...

I still think prices are way off. I had complained a week or so ago on twitter and they just replied and thought I would update.

$20 is fine. Grand opening, 3 pints and a glass (right?).

    I can see that.

I have a problem with the VIP. I don't get the purpose of it.

Apparently they're already open and serving beers $5 each. 1-9pm today Saturday. Also on weekdays.

I've been. Someone dropped a ton o' cash. They custom-built not just the brew house but the building in which it resides. Tons of glass, nice view of downtown, great patio and smallish-but-nice taproom. Beers are $5.00 each and the taproom is open most days. When I went, they had 4, nothing too crazy - also not all super well-made either but maybe they are working out the kinks.

Amber ale - surprised me as my favorite, probably because it seemed the most well made with nice mouthfeel and malt tones.

IPA - good aroma but thin and a touch astringent.

Porter - not bad but a sharp roasted note sticks way out, also a bit thin. With Ascension, Holiday Bonus and Pecan Porter lurking around I don't see this one getting much love without some tweaking.

Overall on a DFW scale of Firewheel to Community I would rate them about even with Franconia.

Ran into one of the owners at World of Beer the other day. Seems like a decent guy. If they plan on bottling their beers I just hope they don't gouge us with high prices...like Lakewood and DEBC.

You think that Lakewood and DEBC beers are high priced out of the bottle? I think they're both on par with most of the major craft producers. Given that Lakewood and DEBC can't take advantage of economies of scale like a Dogfish or Stone to lower their costs, I think the prices are perfectly reasonable.

I digress though, that this is off topic. Texas Ale Project is going to make some fantastic beers. They made one called the Caucasian which was ridiculously good. I can't wait to see what they come out with. As far as the pricing, if no one buys VIP, well.. they'll know not to price them that way in the future.
