I welcome opposing opinions. Kinda why I'm here - to hear other people's views on stuff, so I appreciate your perspective.

Personally never had their beer, and don't wish anything bad for these guys (or any other brewery). But I just think its ridiculous that (1) their business model doesnt have any "surprise" money built into it, and (2) they took this issue to Facebook.

Hope they get it worked out, and find great success

I get that. Just referring to the compassion, or lack of. Tough crowd, all that.

As you said, I hope they get it worked out and do great.

Now, off to find a bottle of Working Stiff to confirm its greatness.

Maybe he should sell that monstrosity of a truck he has and buy a beater and put the rest back in a savings account for stuff like this..

Sorry but these two have rubbed me the wrong way since I first met them about a 2 years ago. Everytime I see something from them it is about them crying about TABC not approving a label, not listening to us about label design/ideas to improve, fighting with customers on twitter, fighting with specs on twitter about carrying their product, putting problems on facebook, not having money to pay fines, etc.

So childish and shows they dont know how to manage money or even run a small business. No sympathies here...

As someone with no respect for TBB and who, unlike probably most others, (and I'm sure I'll personally be judged for this unpopular opinion too) actually does want them to fail, I can say that it has nothing to do with the label art.

Though I do find the label art laughable and kinda ridiculous, I could say the same about plenty of breweries that I love. Label art is a distraction.

Hard work, also, is a distraction, though I appreciate an American putting in hard work to achieve a goal. That's admirable and I don't wish any further harm (other than the failure of his business that I've stated I want) upon this guy.

That said, as far as I'm concerned, TBB has committed a few transgressions that, when added together, I find impossible to forgive. (Not that anyone's asking for my forgiveness, but I'd like to at least explain why I would actually want someone's business to fail, since many probably find that hateful.)

It seems to me that there was a 'whoa we can make money off of this' attitude that started TBB and continues today. There's a sense of entitlement ('people will pay tons of money for beer so they should pay us too!') and I find that sickening. This sense of entitlement stretched in this recent episode to the entitlement that 'oh the laws and regulations shouldn't apply to us!'

It also stretched to them calling out Jeff on twitter when he, a guy who actually had been supporting them and buying their product, offered criticism. Jeff probably gave TBB more money than any other single drinker (because who else would buy a second bottle?) and yet TBB came back with the "Christian" version of "go f*ck yourself": "I'll pray for you."

As a non-Christian for whom many people have "offered their prayers," I find this particularly disgusting and hateful. I'll laugh with Jeff and others about it, but the moment it happened I said "I hope these guys fail and hard." It's bad enough when a person acts like a prick and uses religion to hide it. But from a "company," it's inexcusable. Yes, this is a personal thing, but my personal experiences are from where I draw my opinions, same as everyone else.

Again, as I said, I wish no further harm on the guy other than the failure of his business. But I do hope dearly that that happens, and I hope that he's able to examine his mistakes and move on. Preferably, silently.

I don't have a problem with them trying to get a fee waived. I do think the whole run-to-facebook approach is childish and shows a lack of business sense.

Yeah he doesn't get what a business is supposed to use Facebook for. Some basic business classes would have done them some good. Bitch on your own facebook page but leave it professional on your business account. As soon as he put pictures of his wife on bottles I knew this was a joke of a brewery.

It isn't just the bitching that is the problem. It's the whole attitude like it isn't their fault and they shouldn't be punished for an oversight.

Who's Jeff? I use twitter very little and I have no clue what you're talking about.

I can't argue with anything you've said and for the most part completely agree.
